"Winter formal's coming up. I asked three girls to the dance and they've all said no."
"Can you take people outside the school?"

"Damn."

"So are you buying anything today?"
"I need to look for a sparknotes booklet on–"
"Honey, no. If you want to pass high school, you're going to have to read the real book. What's the title?"
"Les Misérables."
"Ah, the brick itself. Come on, I'll lead you to it."
Travis held Ethan's hand and guided him to the drama section. When they reached the wall of the store with the bookshelf, Travis didn't let go.
Confusingly enough, neither did Ethan.
