Ethan rubbed his hand against his left eye and sat up to face Travis."What's your new year's resolution?"
"I don't really know. What's yours?"
"To kiss a certain someone."
"You know I'm probably not going to kiss you on the head any time soon."

"You kiss me on the head sometimes. You hold my hand. We cuddled yesterday. How come?"
"I don't want to rush things."
"I understand, but you kissed inches the second day you dated."
"I'm going to the roo—"
"Stop with the fleeing shit."
"Huh?"
"Every time we have the smallest arguments, you leave to deal with it yourself. Why?"

"See you later, Travis."Travis ran up and grabbed Ethan's arm.
"Stop it, Ethan!"
"Let me go, Travis."
"I just want to help you, a—"Ethan turned around.
"I fuck up a lot of things. I fucked up my relationship with my parents, I fucked up on my mid-term exams, and I don't want to fuck this up like I do everything else, okay?"

"It will work out. I promise."
"You think?"
"Of course."There was no new year's kiss. Rather, a hug.
