Akutagawa

She may have grown up believing she was invisible, but she didn't have the luxury.

Yoko Tawada was a girl I met when I was new to the Port Mafia. She was shy, but she sure knew how to fight.

When I approached her she nearly broke my arm. It was after that, I had realized she was actually blind. Though due to her gift she was able to feel the slightest movement for miles around.

It was called The Naked Eye. Quite an ironic name I had thought. But she grew on me. Dazai Osamu was our mentor and boss. But Yoko became his second in command.

He found interest in the girl just as I did, but he only saw a weapon. A tool. Another asset.

I saw a frightened girl trying to survive. Perhaps I've done some things that take away my right to feel pity. But I didn't pity Tawada, I wanted to protect her.

I spent hours on end trying to gain her trust. Rage overwhelmed me when I saw how easily Osamu had her in his clutches.

He was going to get her killed. Or worse. She'd end up like me in the long run. Then what could I do?

But she's a fool. She always will be one. That's the kind of person she is. She follows blindly into what she believes is right.

So she left the Port Mafia. No trace of her anywhere, she just... disappeared.

Maybe she wasn't ever here to begin with. A figure of my imagination attempting to make me human again. I wanted that feeling again.

I craved to feel protective again. It gave me something to hold onto. Even if that something was a someone.

Yoko Tawada. The Naked Eye. She would not escape from my sights. I can promise her that.

I would find her eventually. Then I can prove that the line between right and wrong, has been long faded away.

That the right that she followed, was leading her down a path filled with wrongs.
