Akutagawa
Of course he of all people had to show himself. Jumping into the crossfire like an idiot. Frustrated I motioned for Higuchi to follow me back to the port districts.
As we navigated the streets the skies turned sour, and rain fell slowly at first then all at once.
Just like that day.
I told Higuchi to go on without me, while I walked the streets alone. I detest socialization. I hide in the background.
But whenever I see her face, I want to be the main character. She makes me want to be noticed.
She was standing in front of that bookstore again. Her hand was placed on the brick wall, her hair covering her face.
"All this rain will get you sick." I muttered. Her head snapped up to look at me. I could see it, the emotions in her eyes. They weren't hollow, or dull, they held such color.
"Do you think we're bad people?" She asked.
"I think we do what we need to survive. That's all." I stated. She nodded her arm falling down to her side.
Delving into the darkness to search for our broken pieces.
The rain grew relentless, leaving nothing untouched. She shivered from the cold sensation.
"Let's just go ho-"
I pulled her close to me unsure of what I was even doing. The rain, the emotions it brings along with it.
Such a phenomenon allows you to empty your heart, to let your feelings flow like the water. Though, once the rain stops and the clouds part, leaves something truly beautiful.
Everything was graced by the rain, coated in a film of water. When the light reflects off of it color is everywhere, even where you'd least expect it.
When I looked into her eyes, I saw shades of blue and grey. A pureness like the water. It can be rough or calm at times, but no matter what it's something we all need to survive.
I needed her to survive.
Overwhelmed by all the color, I closed the distance between us. Our lips danced together like a forbidden dance.
What I had experienced that evening was truly prismatic.
