Akutagawa

I used to ask myself, 'Is it a crime to think about one person so much?'

If it was I'd be locked away for life.

"What are you daydreaming about now?" She groaned flipping through a book. I glanced over at her. She seemed aggitated in the least, but that's her karma for making a promise she wasn't prepared to keep.

I'll make her eat her words.

"Nothing." I muttered. Awkwardness. I had no idea what to say to her. Ask her about what she's been doing? Suggest to do something that isn't cooped up in a room?

"I heard Dazai bailed on this place a while back. Must've hit hard. Considering how valuable his ability is." She sighed nonchalantly.

"Perhaps. But he wasn't our only wild card." I stated flipping the page of a novel. I didn't read often, but I had nothing else to do.

I heard Yoko close her book and suddenly she was standing in front of me.

"Yeah? Bet I can still beat you in a fight." She smirked.

I rolled my eyes and continued reading. "No doubt about it."

"Woah woah there. Tone down the sarcasm there Ryu, you might hurt your brain." She sneered.

"At least I won't be the only one with brain damage."

She snatched my book out of my hands and glared at me.

"That was low. Even for you."

Does she want to fight me or something?

She grabbed my coat by the collar and dragged me out of the warehouse and into the evening sun. The heat was beaming down on us, completely opposite of the cold damp building.

"I'll give you ten minutes to try and lay a single scratch on me." She teased. I covered my mouth coughing before giving her a devious smile.

"I only need five."
