Yoko

So many things were rushing through my mind at that moment. As I felt the cold water grace my skin, swallowing me whole. I reached out, praying someone would save me.

There was a burning sensation in my gut, a hole leaving a trail of crimson liquid.

I remember, as my eyes grew heavy and death marked its claim on me, I remember feeling something jump in after me.

Now, as I open my eyes on this table, I can see the light. I don't have to just feel it's presence, it burns my eyes like light should.

I sat up gripping my stomach, the wound completely gone. The room around me was bleak. The darkness outweighing the light.

The door opened revealing a boy slightly older than myself, though fairly short.

"Yoko!"

"Chuuya?! You're so freaking tiny!" I laughed hysterically. His eyes widened in shock before dramatically examining me.

"Y-You're alive?"

"I'm up and kicking life's ass!" I beamed. He rolled his eyes annoyed. His expression, that of which seemed to have been plagued with worry now relaxed.

"Well aren't you going to hug me or something?" I deadpanned. He gave me a disgusted look before walking away.

"Oi Chew Toy I was talkin' to ya'!"

"Run for your lives!" He yelled unexpectedly. I jumped onto his back knocking him onto the ground and began punching the back of his head.

"You're so mean to your superior who took a bullet and almost died! You should be more greatful you good for nothing-"

"Hey that hurts you know!" He whined trying to push me off of him.

"Who knew you were such a freaking marshmallow! You're stuck with me for life you know!" I teased stealing his hat off his head.

Behind me I heard the door creak open and my cheerful attitude slipped right away.

His face, pale and exhausted. He looked as if sleep was a foreign concept. His hair was black and faded to a pure silver at its tips. It was even and oddly unkempt at the same time.

But his eyes, they made my soul shatter just looking at them. They were so broken, so scarred, so tired. I fought back the tears that formed in my eyes.

Putting on my playful facáde, I ran straight into his arms.

I had no idea you were like this. My first time seeing you in person... made me cry.
