Akutagawa

She came to me with an exhausted expression. The weight of the world heavily on her shoulders, but she wouldn't tell me why.

'Some things are better left unexplained' she would claim. I was left in the dark.

I sat at my desk staring at our newest file. Ethan Rivers. Psychopath? Probably. Claims to be able to give away immortality and can regenerate serious wounds, even entire limbs.

An ability that resembles a certain Agency member...

Her arms wrapped around me and her head rested atop mine.

"Don't think about it too much." She mumbled.

"This man sent an entire army to kill you in your sleep Yoko!"

She groaned leaning against me.

"He failed didn't he?"

Even so. His audacity pisses me off. I was going to seriously make him pay this time.

"You're getting frustrated. I can feel it. Just relax for a little while. You could use it Ryu."

When was the last time I heard her call me that?

"Akutagawa? We have another lead." Chuuya interrupted waving a slip of paper in the air.

"Gather as many men as you can. Bring weapons. Guns, bombs, everything we've got." I ordered. He nodded running from the room.

"What a fool." Yoko cursed storming out of the room. I caught a glimpse of a faint silver metallic shine on her hip. A pistol.

I'm the fool here? I'm trying to protect you. That's what you do for the people you love. You save them.

I stood up and noticed the small flashdrive left behind on my desk. Yoko must've left it behind. On purpose or not it had me curious.

I slid the small device into my computer and scanned over the type covering my screen.

A conversation.

With Ethan Rivers.

The words generated as fast as they could, scrolling across my screen.

'Your life, or 300 million lives.'

Below the final statement was a timestamp and traced location.

The lead, was a trap. This was were he was hiding. Which ment he lied to his men about being in America.

A silver pistol strapped to her waist. An expression of determination. Settling the score. The flashdrive.

She bought herself time to take care of everything. She was going to confront Ethan Rivers, and most likely end up giving him what he wants.
