Since I've gained my sight, I've been less inclined to listen to the world around me. I'd rather search the world looking at everything, watching people, counting the stars, anything.
It's all so beautiful, so colorful. If I could paint all the wonders of the world in a single picture I would, but that wouldn't do it justice.
Instead I just absorb it's beauty. I'd live a thousand lifelimes just to watch the cherry blossoms fall in spring.

"Perhaps we should work on something. It's quiet around here lately." He complained.
"That's only because for once nobody is dying or in danger of doing so." I smirked. He rolled his eyes slipping his shirt on.
I watched the way his muscles contoured as he moved.

"Enjoying the view?" He retorted sliding his coat on.
"Would like it more without all that fabric." I pouted. I noticed the way he tried to hold back a smile. Such an expression seeming so foreign on him. I loved it.
"Maybe another time." He sighed walking to the door.
"You're no fun Ryu."
He stuck his tongue out like a child and left the room hurriedly.
"You better run!"
The room fell dreadfully silent, the light from a candle flickering in the corner. I walked over to his bookshelf and examined the novels.

My eyes playfully skimmed over the spines until they landed on a book with a small piece if paper sticking out of the top like a marker.
When I opened it up there was a passage highlighted;
"A butterfly fluttered its wings in a wind thick with the smell of seaweed. His dry lips felt the touch of the butterfly for the briefest instant, yet the wisp of wing dust still shone on his lips years later."
I smiled at the quote, not sure if it held any significance in his life, but the way the words seemed to flow made my heart flutter like a butterly.
