Akutagawa

I failed sleep at first that night. But then Yoko knocked on my door with the same exhausted expression. We lied in my bed in silence. Her body fitting perfectly against mine like a puzzle piece.

"That butterfly quote in that book.." She whispered. Of course I knew which one she was talking about. She was the reason I highlighted it.

The first time we kissed, the way that the memory will linger for years to come.

"What about it?" I asked wrapping my arm around her waist to pull her closer to me.

"I like it." She mumbled drifting to sleep. I blushed like an idiot. Such a simple statement sent my heart wild. Or maybe it was how she sounded when she was relaxed.

She was right. I needed this. We needed this.

We slept in that position. Two bodies as one. It felt perfect, like we were meant for eachother. I wouldn't let some American gangs and smugglers get in the way of that.

Nobody can capture my butterfly.

I opened my eyes and realized Yoko was still next to me, awake and reading that book.

"You know you could've just gotten up." I sighed.

"You looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake you." She smirked deviously.

So cruel.

"Whatever."

The sun poured through one window above my bed, making me want to hide under a blanket and sleep for years. But instead Yoko turned to she was facing me and stared at me dead in the eyes.

"W-What?"

She smiled shaking her head in dismissal before climbing out of bed.

"You can't just do something like that and then just walk away that's mean." I complained. She rolled her eyes and walked towards the door.

"What were you thinking?!" I wanted desperately to know. To hear her say it.

"I love you Akutagawa Ryunosuke."
