Akutagawa

"I think the solution is pretty simple. It's been right in front of you this whole time." he muttered twirling a pen in his fingers. "Yoko Tawada is what they want, why not just hand her over?"

The room fell silent. A board for figuring out our next move, turned wrong.

"You can't be serious?!" I exclaimed. He sighed placing his pen down, he had already decided. There was no changing his mind.

"We've been fending for ourselves all this time, fighting for our survival. Just because of some emotional ties, we should let these monsters slaughter all our people?"

"What about fighting them then. Fight for her survival."

"All for one. One for all." He grimaced. My heart shattered inside my chest, threatening to stop altogether.

This isn't right. It's not how it's supposed to end.

That afternoon they took Yoko into custody, locking up one of their own. I couldn't bring myself to go and face her. I failed her. I couldn've stopped them, changed their mind if I tried hard enough.

But Ougai's word is the Mafia's. We can never act out against him.

He was going to try to make contact with the American Underworld in attempts to create some sort of sick peace treaty.

I remembered her expression as they tossed her into a cage.

She seemed... relieved. Maybe she thought that sacrificing herself would lighten the burden on others. That it would be the easy way out. That it would make a difference.

But that's a lie. She's as foolish as the day I met her.

Being a martyr won't do anything. When they come for her, their going to wipe us out in spite of this "truce". Because what they're objective is, is complete and utter world domination.

The American Underworld seeks to engulf everyone in their clutches, leaving nobody unseen.

These people, crave to rule the world.
