Chuuya
It was like a stormcloud just planted itself above the building. The image of her when she walked back in bleeding from her wrist.
There was blood splattered across her face, her eyes distant. It was like her soul died.
I wished she would smile, make fun of me, call me Chew Toy for all I cared. Anything to erase that memory from my mind.
She walked in, absent, then saw him.
They deserved better than this. Each of them being there for eachother at their best and worst.
Now it was Yoko's turn. Our time to see how she reacted to distress. Seeing Akutagawa lying in the same place she had once before.
Comatose. Absent. They were one and the same. She walked up to him, placing a hand on his then collapsing. I caught her before she hit the floor, only to feel her sobs racking her body.
An explosion on the cargo ship. A battle against the weretiger. Falling victim, returning home to us in this state. It was the same heart-wrenching pain as when she got shot.
Seeing their bodies lifeless like that. But then I remembered, the sight of blood, the paleness of the dead, the horror of injury. It was all new to the girl who was born blind. To the girl who had just learned to see.
Seeing a soul fading before your very eyes, is enough to drive one mad.
But not Yoko. She sat on the ground with me, letting her emotions out. When it seemed like the worst of it was over, she stood up, kissed his forehead, then disappeared.
I didn't ask where she went. I didn't ask when she was coming back. I simply prayed she came back in one piece.
Because the last thing I want to witness it her fading smile gone forever.
