"So, Um.." I began,"Soulmates? Where'd you get that idea from?"

God I was so bad at this.

"One time this guy, my best friend Louis who's a wizard-" Harry began before I interrupted him.

"LOUIS?! You know Louis?!" I exclaimed.

Harry looked genuinely surprised at my reaction. "You know him too?"

"It seems like every person I meet knows him. He's your best friend? Seriously?" I asked.

Harry looked somewhat offended when he responded,"Yes, he is my best friend. Why is that so hard to believe?"

"Cause he's so... And your so...!" I cried.

Harry looked at me like I was crazy then he smirked. "I'm so serious and dangerous and he's such a total moron?"

I nodded. "Exactly!"

"Well, he's honestly the only person I really can trust. He's always been there for me. We may be opposites, but we are best friends."

"Awwww! How sweet. Maybe you aren't as ruthless as everyone makes you out to be." I said with a wink.

"Shhhh! I can't have the whole castle knowing that!" He grinned.

I smiled back. "So... Can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Why did you kidnap me? I mean I get the while thinking I'm your soulmate thing-"

"Knowing. Not thinking, knowing." He cut in.

"Er-yeah. Anyway, why not just talk to me? Get to know me like a normal person?" I asked.

"I'm not a normal person." Harry smirked.

I slapped his arm playfully,"You know what I mean Mr king-of-the-vampires!"

He grinned and said,"Because there's no way you'd of ever given me a chance."

Well crap. He's right there... I mean he's a vampire. I've heard rumors of vampires working with Za-

OHMYGOD.

What if Harry is working with Zayn?! And this is all a trap?! Just as I was about to say something a guy burst into the room.

"Harry sir!" His eyes trained to me,"Er-Nightshade is here to see you. Now. Nightshade is looking for Diamond." The guy looked very panicked.

"Nightshade" and "Diamond" were clearly code words covering for two peoples real names. I glanced at Harry to see what he'd make of it. His face had lost all color and he seemed to have the same look of panic on his face.

"Marcus," Harry said hoarsely,"take her to the room."

"The room?! What room?" I cried.

"Yes sir. Right away." The vampire named Marcus was next to me in a flash.

"Hey! I'm not going anywhe-" I gasped as Marcus scooped me up and I craned my head for one last glance at Harry before Marcus sped away with me in his arms.

The last look I'd gotten of of Harry had not been pleasant.

His face had molded back into the hard, cold, chiseled expression he wore so well. All traces of happiness and tenderness had vanished.

He had fully resembled all he was-A vampire king.

"Hurry up Bradley! We don't have all day!" I said irritably. I was already halfway up the mountain and Bradley was at least twenty feet below me. He had rode on my back as a wolf up until we got to the mountain because there was NO way I would carry him up the hill.

"I'm...trying...to....I...can't...breath!" He panted.

"We need to get to the top. I'm morphing into a wolf and you can meet me inside if you make it." I morphed and ran up to the mountain. I was at the top within seconds. On the very top was the very familiar little wishing well. Any other person wouldn't have given it a second glance, but I knew better. As I pulled the rope to bring the bucket up, I heard a voice behind me.

"Why the hell are you pulling a bucket out of a wishing well? I thought we were looking for your friend?" Bradley asked. Oh greaaaat. He had made it up the hill.

"Because this is the way to his house you nimwit." I responded. I finally pulled the bucket out and took out the key that only showed to the people he wanted to see it. I got down on my knees and put it into the little carrot shaped emblem on the side.

"Your mad, you know that?" Jake smirked. I gritted my teeth but said nothing and turned the key.

"You think I'm mad? Well your in for a treat when you meet Louis." Was all I replied in turn.

Crap. Crap. Crap. CRAP.

Not helping HARRY STOP PANICKING.
Get that icy shell back to hide behind.
It was almost as if all of Leila's warmth and compassion had melted away my hard icy image.
You'll need it to face him.
I can't believe he's here. And Leila is here! This is a disaster! How am I going to protect her from him now?! Please Marcus, take her to the safest place in this castle, I'm depending on you to protect my soulmate from him.

"Well hello there old friend." His voice was cold daggers and I whirled around.

"Zayn." I replied just as coldly.

"Why that tone mate? I thought you'd be happy to see an old friend." He smirked.

"You are not my friend anymore. Not after all of the evil you have done." I replied in turn.

"Evil? Aw c'mon Harry. You know everything I have done has been vital to us overrunning those petty humans. Don't you remember when we started this whole thing? You even agreed it was for the best."

"Vital?! Vital?! Killing thousands of humans was vital? Threatening all races of magical creatures was vital? Kidnapping all-"

"Alright, alright Harry! I get it, some of my methods may have been harsh. But that's the past now. I came here for a reason, and I think you know exactly what it is."

"I don't."

"Don't even try to lie to me Harry. You of a all people should know better."

The silence in the room was deafening. I kept my eyes trained steadily at his and kept my glare going.

"Alright, if that's how you want to play it Harry. I'm here for Leila." Zayn said coldly.

"Don't know where she is." I said through my teeth.

"Surely you know where the camp is, I know you Harry. You'd never let her be unattended."

"Nope. Can't help you."

"Harry, be cooperative..."

"Don't know, I've told you that."

Zayn glared at me and gritted his teeth. "Your playing a dangerous game Harry, are you sure you don't know where she is?"

I swallowed nervously,"I'm sure Zayn."

"Alright. I'm sure you don't mind if I stay here overnight then? My journey was very tiring." Zayn smirked.

"Actually, I do mind. I have other guests who are travelers and you would only be a worry to them. I'll arrange your carriage back home now." I began to walk but Zayn's hand on my shoulder held me back.

"I wasn't asking."

I gritted my teeth. Zayn was insistent on staying, and nothing I was going to say would change his mind. "Fine. Only for the night." I searched the palace for Marcus's mind.

Marcus. We have trouble. Zayn is staying overnight. Is Leila safe?

Yes sir, very safe. But she is asking questions and I don't know how long I can keep her calm sir...

I'll be there as soon as I show Zayn to his room.

I cut our conversation short and waved my hand to indicate that Zayn should follow me.

Marcus was the only other vampire that had the ability to communicate telepathically. I'd given him that ability because I knew I could trust him. The whole mind reading and the other perks that came with it was only one of my powers.

I led Zayn down the long hallway and down some flights of stairs. We turned in at the third level. I walked down to the last door on the right and opened it. "Here you go." I said to Zayn.

Zayn crossed in front of me to the interior of the room. "Eh, I've had better quarters. I figured you would be kind enough to give me a room of higher class?" He questioned.

I gritted my teeth. "Well, looks like you assumed wrong didn't you? You know where the best place to get nicer rooms is? Your own palace. Now, stay here until someone calls for you. Don't even try to sneak out or you'll regret it."

"Is that a threat?" Zayn glared daggers at me.

I smiled. "Just a fact."

Hey guys! Sorry it's been awhile, but I have some bad news! Well it's not really bad but..(:
Okay so I'm going on a trip and not coming back until Wednesday so I don't know when I'll be able to update again, but I will update ASAP!!!
