They knew we were here. Huh. Maybe humans are smarter than we take them for. Not that I think they're not smart, but we clearly have superior intellect. My team was assembled in various trees. We had a perfect view of the humans hiding spot. It was surrounded by a large metal wall, which had only one way in, the gate with the fingerprint scanner. That or being an incredibly powerful vampire who could easily get inside the wall numerous ways. I scanned the dozens of people running around gathering their armor and various weapons. Still no sign of her. I sighed, frustrated.
"Don't worry mate, we will find her." Marcus assured me.
"We better. I've been waiting a lifetime to meet her. She is my soulmate after all."
Soulmate. Such a powerful word. So simple, yet so meaningful. It's the person you feel a connection to the moment you meet them-a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before. It's something so powerful, it's fate.
That's about when I was snapped out of my thoughts because I saw her down in the camp.
I didn't really see her for more than a second, but wow.
She'd just stepped halfway out of a door and was frantically muttering something to a blond guy. She looked so amazing. Her brown curly hair had been blowing in the wind and her bright green eyes were shining, I could see every detail of her perfectly from here.
My only thought was its gotta be you. Only you. My heart felt like it would leap out of my chest any second. I knew I wanted more than anything to be with her holding her in my arms right now.
I'd felt this way the first time I'd seen Leila. We hadn't officially met, to be clear, but I had seen her once before now. And that's when I knew she was the one. The one I'd waited all my life for. And now, after years of searching, I'd finally found her again. In a rebel human camp of all places. It was pretty large compared to the others we'd seen, but it'd still be all too easy to take over.
"Alright lads, secure the place. No blood-sucking just yet. Surround them and tie up prisoners. Oh, and if you find her, bring her to me immediately." I told my team.
They nodded and Marcus said "1.. 2..3.. NOW!" The vampires flew out of the trees, over the metal wall, and into the campsite.
This should be fun.

As soon as Josh had told me about the vampires, I'd quickly put on my armor and grabbed my Bow & Arrow, and of course I had on my special bracelet already. It was silver with a pink heart in the middle. It was the most precious object I had ever received. My mum had given it to me just weeks before Zayn had kidnapped me and my brother. Liam also possessed a pretty cool bracelet. His bracelet was a teleportation device of sorts. It wasn't all that great at long-distance teleportation, but in a battle it was a great asset. He could be in so many different places in the blink of an eye. We'd almost lost our magical items when Zayn burned our house down, but when we'd ventured back to our house the items were sitting on top of the ruins, completely unscarred. My bracelets main power was to make me invisible. It also had other lesser abilities that I haven't quite discovered yet. I had no idea how to activate them, my mom was taken before she could tell me. But anyways, invisibility. Cool, right? As far as I know, there were no other items like it. It gave me an awesome advantage. Me and Liam Together are quite a team.
"Leila! They're here!" Josh was still standing in the doorway waiting for me. "Wow you look... Awesome.." He stuttered.
"Really? Uh thanks." I replied, confused. I looked down at myself. All I was wearing was a plain purple t-shirt and dark washed blue skinny jeans with my favorite brown lace up boots. My armor covered my chest and shins. "Let's go." I said awkwardly. Josh and I ran out.
Oh my god.
There were vampires everywhere. And I mean everywhere. On the roofs, in the trees, on top of the training walls, all over the different miniature houses, and any other place they could possibly be. It looked like we were losing. I saw Liam fighting some vampires nearby. He cleanly took down four all at once.
"Josh!" I called," I'm going invisible!" He nodded and took off. He sliced down two vampires in one strike. They weren't dead of course, just injured. I pressed the heart in the center of the bracelet and disappeared. I ran around, shooting my arrows from near and far. I was doing pretty good until I heard a loud scream.
"AHHHHH HELLLPPPP!" A girly voice screamed. I recognized it right away.
Bella.

"Stop struggling, your only making this harder for yourself!" I angrily shouted at the little blond human I had been fighting. I'd tied her up now. It had been all too easy, she had just a small dagger to defend herself. She was good, but I was the best. No matter how hard these humans trained, they'd never be even close to a bottom level vampire fighter. And I was the king.
That's when I heard the whizzing of an arrow coming straight at me. I barely managed to dodge it. I turned around, expecting to see some pathetic human, but... There was no one...

Oh my god. He was perfect. Literally. If perfection was a person it would be this guy. His hair was brown and curly and a total mess, and it was the most adorable thing I'd ever seen. He had these green eyes that had the most beautiful look to them. He was flawless as far as I could see. He took my breath away. I felt this connection I just couldn't explain. It felt so powerful and overwhelming, I couldn't think for a second.
That was until I realized he was holding my friend captive. As adorable as he may be, he is so going down.

I sighed in frustration. The arrows were coming out of thin air. I kept dodging them but... Still... Where were they coming from? I narrowed my eyes as the next one came flying, and I dashed forward and grabbed the air. Only, it was a person. I heard a girl gasp and I tackled the air-person to the ground. Then they became visible.
It was her.
She had passed out from the impact and she was laying there like a doll. She looked so innocent. And so perfect. I gently picked her up into my arms and brushed a stray strand of her perfect hair back. "Leila." I cooed. Then I felt the connection again. It was almost overwhelming. I felt the strange urge to.. But I'm a vampire how..Ugh..
And that's when I fainted.
