Red. Again.
This time, I was not letting her get away.
"No." I said to Jessie. "She is not going to die. I won't let her." I said calmly.

"Louis I'm sorr-" Jessie began.

"DID YOU HEAR ME JESSIE?! SHE IS NOT DYING." I screamed.

"Lou please..." Cami whispered. "I don't want to be one of them... Let me go..."

I looked down at the stunningly beautiful girl in my arms, heartbroken. "Cam, I can save you, I know I can, please let me..." I whispered.

She shook her head gently. "Let me go. What he-cough-Zayn... What he has planned-cough-you have to let me go, or he will use me... I love you Louis, I always have."

"No Cami, please... I can't be without you..." I sobbed. She smiled gently at me before closing her eyes. "CAMI! Don't you dare close your eyes on me!" I turned desperately to Jessie, who was on his knees next to us with tears streaming down his face.

As if it wasn't bad enough, I heard the slamming of doors above us. Jessie stood up quickly wiped his tears and gasped. "Zayn? What are you-"

Zayn's cold eyes turned their glare onto me and the ice cold girl in my arms. "Jessie. What is going on here?" Zayn said in a deadly calm voice.

"Zayn-I-I swear, I can expl-"

"SHUT UP!" Zayn roared. "You're a TRAITOR! A DAMN TRAITOR. My own best friend, my right hand man-HOW COULD YOU?!" Zayn glared at Jessie with all his might, then in a split second Zayn stood in front of Jessie, and Jessie flew across the room.

"Jessie!" I cried out, forgetting about Cami for a moment as Zayn turned his glare onto me.

Zayn smiled wickedly. "Ah, if it isn't the great and powerful Louis. Your little face glamour spell doesn't fool me." He waved his hand in front of my face. "Ah, that's better, now you're not hiding anymore. I've been waiting for this moment. I had hoped it would be under better circumstances, but oh well."

"What... What did you do to her?" I whispered hoarsely.

"Oh, the beautiful mundane girl? Well, you see, I have this plan... Louis, you are far more important than you realize. I want you at my side. I can give you everything you could ever want. Safety, Riches, Power, Immortality... And the girl of your dreams." Zayn motioned to Cami. "You've seen the dangers of this world, you know how easy it is for a mortal like her to die? With my help, you can live together, here in my palace, happily ever after. All I ask is for is for you to join me. The world is corrupt, but together, we can fix it. We can save humanity and make the world better, together." Zayn finished.

I was absolutely stunned.

I should hate this guy, he'd intentionally stolen Cami and done awful things, yet his offer sounded... Incredible. And he had seemed genuine. I looked down at Cami then back up at Zayn. I took a deep breath.
Louis, you know this is the only way to save her...
"It's a deal." I extended my hand and took hold of his. He pulled me to my feet and grinned.

"You just made the best decision you'll ever make." Zayn smirked. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a small bottle. He poured it into Cami's mouth and she shuddered. I heard her heartbeat speed up and then go steady. I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding.

"The damage the gang from your school did to her has been fixed." Zayn bowed mockingly.

"Louis... You didn't..." Jessie said in horror. He stood across the room, clutching his stomach in obvious pain.

I ran to him. "Jessie... I had no choice... Cami was dying, and Zayn... He wants to help. It'll be okay-"

"No Louis, it won't! This is what he wanted all along, it was a damn trick to get you on his side! By pledging yourself to him, you turned your back on your parents and all of the other wizards. Don't you see? You're a traitor now-" Jessie's rant was cut off as an invisible force slammed into him.

Zayn was at my side in an instant. "The only traitor around here is you Jessie. I should kill you-"

"No!" I cried out. I turned to Zayn. "Please-don't kill Jessie. I'll do anything."

Zayn eyed me curiously. He let out a sigh. "Fine. But only for you Louis, not him," Zayn eyed Jessie with disgust. A chirp rang out from Zayn's pocket and he growled in annoyance.
"It's almost time for me to be crowned. Wait here and I'll be back." He cast one more murderous glare at Jessie before he left the room. I heard the lock click behind him.

I ran to Jessie's side. "Jessie-I'm so sorry. I'm so stupid I just-Cami-"

Jessie sat up slowly with my help. "It's alright Lou. You didn't know. Well, you did but... I get it. Cami means a lot and at least you saved her. We will figure out the rest. But Lou... We are in major trouble."

Just before I could respond I heard a gasp behind me. I turned around to see Cami standing up, but she looked... Different.
