I took off into the woods, my feet hitting the ground running and not stopping. I heard Josh ahead of me and Bella behind me. Over the sound of our feet crunching on the leaves I heard the menacing growls of the supposed "hunting hounds-" which we knew of course to be the Shapeshifters. The sound was getting frightfully close when I heard a sharp gasp from behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks and whirled around to see Bella with her leg twisted at an angle I was positive it was not meant to twist. Her foot had been trapped by a log that had fallen over.

I raced back to her and tried to pry her foot free, but I wasn't strong enough alone.

"Bella... Pull!" I panted. She tried desperately to pull her leg free while I pushed the log upward, bearing all of its weight. I suddenly felt relief and I looked to my side to see Josh helping on the other half of the log. Together we got Bella free.

We gently put our arms around her and tried to help her stand up, but we all knew she wouldn't be able to walk.

The menacing growls were dangerously close.

"What do we do?" Josh cried.

"Leave me! It's your only chance." Bella said.

Josh looked at her as if she had just suggested the worst thing in the world. "Are you insane?! We are not leaving you!"

Bella shoved me to the ground and tried to tear free from Josh. "It's your only chance you idiot! GO!"

I scrambled to my feet, wincing. "I have an idea. We have to climb this tree!"

Bella shook her head vigorously, still struggling with Josh. Josh grabbed both of her arms and turned her toward him. "WE ARE CLIMBING UP THAT TREE! WE ARE NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU! So we can either all die, or you can stop fighting and get in the tree!" He yelled.

Bella stopped struggling, knowing she had been beaten. Josh turned to me. "Climb up the tree and then I'll pass her up to you!" He told me and I took off up the trunk of the closest tree. I managed to get myself into the lowest branch(which was a considerable distance from the ground) in one try. It was thick and the perfect size for three people. I turned around and stretched my arms out for Jason to help hoist Bella up to me. He made a hoister out of his hands and Bella put her good leg onto it and used her other arm to grip the branch and launch herself into my arms. I pulled her the rest of the way up and helped her get to the next highest branch which had more leaves to hide us. I followed her up and reached down to pull Josh off of the first branch and onto the same one as us. It would seem we made it not a minute too soon, for as soon as Josh reached the security of the second branch I saw glowing eyes and heard ferocious snarls below. I bit back the scream that was itching to be let out. I froze completely, keeping every part of my body still. I heard a oozing sound below followed by voices.

"What do you mean you can't get their scent anymore?!" One voice growled.

"I mean I can't get it, what else?"

The same growling voice let out a low chuckle. "You can be the one to tell our king that then."

"Tell me what?" A cool, crisp voice cut in, followed by the silence of all other voices below.

The growling man cleared his throat. "Uh-Zayn sir-you see-Robby here lost their scent-"

"ME?! Zayn sir, I-I didn't I swear!" The one called Robby stuttered out.

"ENOUGH!" Zayn roared,"Now, I believe the leader of this party should be the one to track the scent, am I right Michael?"

"Uh-sir I don't..." The growling man(who appeared to be Michael) stuttered out.
