•---Past Louis---•
"All right kids, we are leaving now!" My mom called out. Jessie and I were sitting seemingly innocently on the couch watching TV. I glanced back and saw my mom coming down the stairs.
"Wow ma, you look amazing!" I complimented. Her hair was curled and styled to the side and she wore a beautiful red velvet dress.
"You really do, Mrs. Tomlinson." Jessie commented.
"Thank you boys. And Jessie, I've told you before, call me Johannah. Mrs. Tomlinson makes me seem like a grandmother."
"Johannah we need to get going-" my dad stomped down the stairs and nodded curtly at Jessie and I.
My mom sighed. "Alright boys, remember, no leaving the house. And no crazy parties." She winked at us and we hollered goodbye at my parents till we heard their car leave the driveway. Immediately Jessie and I turned to one another.
"So did you finally master the spell we need?" Jessie asked as we walked upstairs.
"I think so, I've been practicing it ever since yesterday." I responded as we pulled on our tuxes.
"Alright, it's time to try it Tommo." Jessie said.
I took a deep breath and envisioned my face morphing into another one. I had studied the face of a shifter Jessie knew wouldn't be attending, and I focused on the oval shape of those eyes, the square shaped nose, and the thin lips. After a second I opened my eyes and almost fell over, but luckily Jessie caught me just in time.
"Looks like you drained yourself... You won't be doing any more magic tonight." Jessie remarked.
"So... It worked?" I glanced at him and he nodded.
"You look hideous."
I stared at him in mock horror. "Oh no, did I accidentally turn my face into yours?! IT'S MY WORST NIGHTMARE COME TO LIFE!" I snickered as Jessie playfully punched me in the arm.
"Alright, alright, we need to focus Tommo. Now, grab my arm."
"Woaaaah there, Jessie I'm sorry but I don't like you like th-"
"Louis! Just do it!"
I rolled my eyes and grabbed on to his arm.
"Hold on tight..." Jessie warned, then everything twisted.
---
"Louis, get your sorry arse up or I'm leaving without you!" I heard Jessie's angry voice say.
Like the genius I am I said back, "Mhhhhm?"
I opened my eyes hesitantly. After blinking a few times I remembered where we were.
"OH SH-" Jessie's hands shot out to cover my mouth before I could finish cursing.
"Dammit Louis you're going to get us caught!" A buzzing sound came from Jessie's pocket and he quickly pulled out his phone and cursed under his breath. "Look, Zayn is looking for me and if I don't find him soon, he will know something is up. I'll be right back, stay here."
"WAIT! How did we teleport?! I thought you couldn't-" I stuttered out.
Jessie sighed impatiently. "I took a teleporter from your parents lair, since I figured you'd be too weak to do it after you did the other spell on yourself. Now, STAY HERE!" He hissed as he darted off.
I blinked, taking in my surroundings. I was in a lavishly decorated room about the size of a regular house. The walls were crimson red and all around there were black decorations. How depressing. And slightly creepy. I stood to my feet and walked to a nearby dresser. Sitting on top of it were various pictures of Jessie and others. I noticed myself and Cami in most of them, and another recurring man in some of the others. The man had perfectly tan skin, dark silky black hair, a wicked glint in his eyes, and an aura of power. Something told me that the man was Zayn. Confusion immediately hit me. Jessie had said he hated Zayn, he'd even went so far as to call him an arse, but in these pictures, Jessie looked happy... What did it mean? Well, either way, Zayn was creepy and evil.
Man, I sure hope I never have to meet that guy...
I heard muffled laughing and I turned towards the door. Ignoring Jessie's persistent comments about staying put, I pushed open the door. I was in a hallway that was decorated exactly the same way as Jessie's room. I saw a lavishly overdressed couple walking away from me and down some stairs, so I followed. After going down for what seemed like forever, we finally reached the bottom floor; the huge ballroom.
Three words; Oh. My. Gosh.
It was the hugest, grandest, most intensely decorated room I'd ever seen in my life. I am definitely going to hire this decorator for my next birthday.
Zayn had gone all out-even the food looked amazing.
Immediately a man dressed in a uniform approached me.
"What is your name?" He looked me up and down.
"Um-Donny Lucas. I'm a section two shapeshifter." I replied, repeating the words Jessie had told me.
He nodded. "Carry on Sir."
I squeezed by women in stunning dresses and men in polished suits and finally made it to the front of the crowd. People were chatting excitedly when suddenly the lights went out.
Murmurs of confusion and worry began, and suddenly a spotlight fell at the top of the balcony above the stairs.
Illuminated in the spotlight was the one and only evil mastermind himself-Zayn.
