----------------------------------Previously, in the past part 14...
"Let's go." Jason led all of us out of the hospital room and down the hallway on the right. We stopped at one of the doors and Jason motioned for us to go in. I went in, followed by Liam and the door slammed shut behind us. I gasped and turned around, pounding on the door. I heard hurried whispers on the other side.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I shouted in outrage.
Liam pounded hard on the door next to me. "LET US OUT!" He cried.
"I'm sorry, but this is for your own good. Tomorrow, we will be starting a human camp, and you will lead it Liam. It's for the best." Louis said.
"Niall! Justin! Please tell them this is wrong!" I cried.
"We can't. It's the right thing for you. I'm sorry." Niall said.
"Please, no..." I slid down the door in sorrow.
"I'm sorry..." Niall repeated, and then I heard four sets of footsteps treading away, leaving us locked in the room feeling guiltier than ever.
•---Past Leila---•
"I'm not going to bed." I said to Liam for what felt like the hundredth time.
"We've been in here for hours and we obviously aren't going to find a way out of this mess if we are sleep deprived." Liam said, exasperated.
"How about you go to sleep then?" I shot back.
"Not until you do."
"I told you, I'm not going to sleep. I can't."
"And why not?"
I turned my head and glared at him. "Because this whole freakin thing is my fault! Mom, Dad, Cestur, Julie, All those people who died, EVERYTHING!" I buried my face in my hands, angry at the world, Liam, and most of all, myself.
I felt a hand on my shoulder-Liam's.
"Please don't beat yourself up Leila. If this is anyone's fault, it's mine."I shook my head in despair. "Please don't..."
"I was supposed to protect you. That was-That is my one job. It's the most important thing in the world to me Lei. And I couldn't do even tha-"
I lifted my head furiously. "Shut up! Just shut up Liam! Stop trying to be mister freakin perfect! And stop blaming yourself! Honestly Liam I can't believe you think this is your fault. You know I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!" I shouted.
Liam looked at me in pure shock, and I immediately regretted my words. "Liam I-"
"Save it. I get it."
"No, no Liam I was just upse-"
"Just stop." Liam stood up and crossed to the other side of the room. I started to follow him, but soon decided against it and sat on a nearby bed. The room we had been locked in by our so called "friends" was a large amount of space furnished with three beds, a table with chairs, and multiple other knickknacks lying around on the ground or in wooden chests. I saw a glint of silver nearby and I stood up and walked to it. I pushed a chest out of the way and picked up a small key. "Liam look!" I cried.
Liam glanced over his shoulder at me. "Leila I thought I told y-"
"Just look!" I held up the key and his eyes widened.
"Is that a-"
"Yes!" I rushed to the door and put the key into the keyhole. I turned it and the door clicked. Right before I could rush out Liam pulled me back and relocked the door. I looked at him furiously. "What are you doing?" I cried in outrage.
"We can't just charge out there with fledglings running around! If we are going to leave this place, we need weapons." He glanced around the room curiously.
"I have my bow and arrows, you have your sword, and we both have our bracelets, what more could we possibly need?"
Liam half smiled mischievously. "Open that box." He pointed to a large brown wooden chest resting by my foot. I looked from his eyes down to the chest and back at him.
"Liam I really don't-"
"Just look Leila."
I kneeled down reluctantly and opened the chest.
Holy crap.
Inside laid every potion you could possibly imagine.
Now, here's the deal with potions-they're strictly forbidden to every being except wizards who have undergone training by Louis. Louis is the only one who knows how to create potions. And since the "mysterious death" of all wizards except Louis, no one has seen any potions.
Some believed that Zayn killed all of them at the beginning of the war, fearing their power.
Others of us, like me, hope that Zayn had taken them and locked them away somewhere as he attempted to do with everything and one.Potions have every single ability you could possibly imagine.
Love potions, to make another slowly fall for you.
Strength potions, to give you emotional or physical strength.
Growing potions, to instantly make you a rich farmer.
And so on.But there are also darker potions, invented by the great evil wizard that Louis defeated.
Deathly potions, to kill another in various horrible ways.
Torturous potions, to maul, eat away, and control others.
And other dark, dangerous concoctions that only Louis knows about.I finally focused back on the chest below me. Every potion was a different beautiful shade of a color. Midnight blue, Tangerine orange, Rosy pink.. this had to be the widest range of potions I have ever seen. I saw a potion labeled "Death Juice," another one labeled "Smarticles for a Day," and even one labeled "Sunshine in a Bottle."
I racked my brain for any reasonable way for someone to get their hands on these. I came up with none. I glanced back up at Liam. "What the hell?!""Right? I thought the same thing. How did they get their hands on such rare potions? Heck, any potions at all?"
"But... What exactly are you proposing we do with them?"
"Well I found one in there, it's on top look at it."
I picked up the one on top. It read "Vampire Stopper!" And below that in small typographic letters,"Have you been bitten by a bloodsucking monster? Are you in dire need of some help? Well, look no further! The one and only "Vampire Stopper!" will solve all of your problems! This quick and easy solution is great for new fledglings!"
I stopped reading and that line and looked up at Liam, knowing we were thinking the same thing. "Julie! We have to find her! We can save her-"
"I know. And any other fledglings out there. I do have one concern though... If they have all of these potions, why haven't they used them?"
"Maybe they don't know? Liam, a ton of their men and women were killed by the vampires. This room must have belonged to one of them." I gasped in surprise when I realized just what person might have had such dangerous and rare potions,"Do you think it's possible this room was Cestur's?"
Liam's face went white. "I'm almost certain. Leila... I think he may have been a bad wizard."
I shook my head vigorously. "But Louis killed them all-"
"Not all of them." A voice cut in and Liam and I whirled around to see Louis standing in the doorway. He shut the door carefully behind him and locked it. "I think it's time I tell you both something I have never told anyone else before. The story of my past."
