•---Past Louis---•
The Zayn Malik standing before me contrasted starkly with the one who had tricked me into the deal.Then again, I should've known that this was the real Malik.
The Malik who had made the deal with me was fake.
He had fooled me just as he had so many others.Jessie and Cami raced to me quickly, and we stood together, united as one in facing the devious new king.
"Zayn." I nodded my head in acknowledgement. I decided to try the ol friendly approach. "That marvelous crown looks wonderful atop your-"
"Stop the act Louis. I needn't pretend any longer, and neither shall you, considering that you are indebted to me for life." Zayn's smile grew even wider, framing his perfectly white teeth.
I cocked my head to the side. "Well, technically, you didn't fulfill your half of the deal, because, oh I don't know...Cami is a FREAKIN SHIFTER."
Zayn smirked. "Ah yes, forgot to mention that. You see, those first level shifters had hurried the process along too much to where even I could not stop it, so if I had not saved her, she'd be dead. A small price to pay for her life, don't you think?"
Cami stepped forward. "I don't think it is Zayn. It should've been my choice!" She snarled.
"You should be happy, becoming a shifter is a rare and precious gift my dear." Zayn gloated back.
"Oh yeah? A gift you say? I'd say it's more like a curse." Jessie commented as he stepped forward. "It's a burden, one everyone should have the choice in choosing wether or not to become one. Unlike me." He spat venomously.
Zayn rolled his eyes and chuckled. "I saved your life to, you ungrateful arse. You'd be dead if not for me. Both of you would be!" He howled at them.
I gritted my teeth together in fury. "You said you'd make her human-"
Zayn raised a finger. "Ah ah ah. I did not say that. I said I would save her, perhaps you should pay more attention to my words in the future."
Before I could respond Jessie whispered in my ear. "Lou, get us the hell out of here! Zayn's just stalling us." He warned. Before I could even think, Zayn snapped his fingers and two dark clouds swallowed my friends.
Little did I know that would be the last I'd see of them.
--
I turned to Zayn in fury. "WHERE THE HELL DID YOU TAKE THEM ZAYN?!"He smiled. "Relax, I'm not going to kill them, but you should know that unless you do exactly as I say, you will never see them again."
"You told me that Cami and I could live happily ever after." I said mockingly.
"And you shall, but first, I am in dire need of your assistance. You see, a prophecy has been made."
"By who?" I asked curiously.
"You shall find out one day." Zayn smiled knowingly. "The prophecy goes;
Two siblings of hair strung brown
Will be the ones who bring Malik down
The girl with eyes green as forest
Holds power unlike any before;
Lest Malik's doom be saved,
One sibling's life, a price to pay
For lest one sibling was to die,
In eternal weep, the other shall cry
And Zayn shall take them by his side
Malik's rule shall never die."The haunting words stuck in my mind.
Who could these poor siblings be?
One thing was clear in my mind at that moment, I would never help Zayn separate these two siblings. For some reason I knew I had to help them. Zayn's promise to not hurt Cami or Jessie was unbreakable, just as my promise to stay at his side was, but that didn't mean that I couldn't help them as long as I technically stayed at Zayn's side.And so, I knew now, that I would help them no matter what. When the time came, I'd be ready. If those two siblings could put a stop to Malik's evil reign, then I'd wait, and I'd sure as hell be ready to fight when the time came. If I'm really one of the Exceptionals, then this is the right thing to do. And I'll bet that by the time comes to meet these siblings, I'll have conjured a spell to break my promise with Zayn. So then he will still be stuck in the promise, but I shall not be.
I glanced up at Zayn with a smile, putting on a persona. "What would you have me do, My King?"
