I looked at Freya.

What did she just say?

The sound of her light breathing told me that she had fallen asleep.

I'll talk about it with her later.

It made my heart ache to just think that she was my first, and would be the mother of my first child.

Mother.

How will she manage sustaining her job of she's pregnant? I wondered. I shook my head. Gently getting off the bed, I walked to the door closing it softly behind me.

Doesn't matter. I'll be there for her. For them. That's all that matters now.

"So the boy matures into a man".

A laugh.

" boy, what the hell have I missed." Looking around, I was startled.

"Whose there?" I demanded as I turned. I felt someone tap my shoulder from behind and jumped.

"Y-you... Your supposed to be dead!"

She smiled and scuffed my hair I blinked at the potential zombie in shock.

"Me? Dead? I don't think so."

Vale smiled and popped a peppermint into her mouth. "Relax Michael. I'm not going to rape you".

"That's funny. Freya said the exact same thing before we had sex."

She laughed and plopped herself onto the floor. Uncomfortable, I looked around the hallway for signs of Marceline.

"Sit." Vale commanded. I looked at the brunette unsure.

"Where's Marceline?"

"Marcy?" Vale asked. "She said something about getting the training grounds ready..."

"Training grounds?" I repeated confused. "Why is she..." Vale looked at me surprised.

"You have no idea, do you..." She gave me a serious face and I winced at the sudden change.

"What are you talking about?" I asked her. She began to fumble with her fingers.

"Michael, I have, rather interesting news for you". I scratched my head.

"Okay..."

"Come with me" Vale said as she got up.

"I just sat down."

"Shut up and come."

"But Freya-"

"She's not going anywhere. Come on!" Hesitantly, I began to follow Vale.

"How is it that your alive?" I asked her, trying to break the silence as I followed her. She sucked her teeth.

"When I was struck my Terra's bolt, I was paralyzed. My species doesn't do so well against her particular type of power". We turned a corner.

"I see".

"Did you see me in that form?" She asked me stopping in her tracks. Bumping into her, I apologized. "Sorry, sorry". Embarrassed, I nodded. "Yeah, I saw you". Vale looked at me curiously, then continued walking.

Strange.

"I heard that" Vale said smugly as she walked on. Speed walking to catch up to her, I sighed.

"You know it's not fair that you read minds, right?" She laughed at me.

"What can I say? I'm gifted. You think the weird stuff and I learn... Now where was I..."
