Michael

So... so much pain...so cold! My... my head hurts... why?

Why am I seeing these memories again?

I...her...! Miss..? I remember her...now... Ana... and Lucky...

But why had I forgotten?

There... there's someone in my...head...

No! No more! I... I don't want to... don't want to remember!!

Get out... of my head...

Get...GET OUT!

Hailey

All of our heads snapped around when we head the hunter with his claws in Mike's head cry out in pain.

"Ack!" He yelled. He dropped to his knees right behind Michael, but he refused to let go.

"Don't stop! Marceline growled, using Freya's distracted state as an advantage as she ran to uppercut her. "Finish the job!"

"I will..." he groaned. The wolf hunter beside him rested a hand on his shoulder, and it seemed like that was motivation enough to keep him going.

Motivation enough to let him hurt Michael.

I... I need to do something!

"Don't try it." The hunter beside me said. I bit my lip utterly confused.

"How did you-"

"Body language. Your body language was obvious." I shook my head.

"I can't just stand still! You guys are hurting him!" His eyes widened with surprise and he looked away.

"I guess that's what it must like it to an outsider."

I stopped resisting and took at him when he said those words.

"What..." I slowly began. "What are you guys doing to Mike?"

"Oh?" He remarked teasingly. "Is the little succubus suddenly interested in our line of work?" I blushed and looked away and I could sense him smiling.

"The hunter is absorbing his memories." He said crossing his arms. I looked up at him and heard the sudden grim tone of his voice.

"That boy... we clearly underestimated his mental state. One of our companions can dive into a person's mind using an ability called 'Soul Dive'. That's what we're doing. Diving into his memories and absorbing them to discover how he knows Marceline's mother."

"But..." I began confused. "If that's all you're doing, why is it hurting him that much?"

"If don't know." He said grudgingly. "But if I had to guess, I'd say that it's because of 'Mind block'."

"Mind...block?"

He looked over to his side and I looked at his companion who was beginning to tremble as he continued to keep his claws in the back of Mike's head. Mike looked even worse, and it hurt me to see him that way. He was taking long and heavy breaths, and unconsciously beginning to cough up blood.

He's suffering...

"A mind block is a small mental impairment placed on humans by vampires. It blocks memories and makes the user completely unaware of their current situation. It strengthens over time, and the longer it's been, the more it hurts to remove."
