"Vale, can you let me go now?" Vale continued to walk ahead. We were now outside the building, and my butt was sore from all the dragging.
"Vale," I whined. I looked up at her and notice her breaths were barely leaving her mouth, dying at her lips. The air that had made it out was scarce, but visible.
"Is...Is it cold?" I looked around and saw the dead trees skimmed in frost.
What season is it?
"It's cold." Vale simply stated. The reason why presented itself a few more feet ahead.
Lizbeth.
"Where do you think your going?" Lizbeth demanded. Her eyes were gaunt. Her emaciated figure revealed itself beneath her T-shirt; all of course, except her enormous breast, which the fabric terribly failed in concealing.
I peeked at her bra and began to wonder if they were custom made while she spoke with Vale.
"Well?" She asked impatiently. Vale shrugged the sharpness of her tone off.
"What's it to you?"
A sniff.
"We aren't doing anything wrong." Lizbeth eyed her with intent then saw me behind her in chains. Her eyes narrowed.
"Sup counselor." Lizbeth quickly inhaled and averted my eyes.
"Don't go this way; it's under construction. Something like training grounds." Vale nodded her head understanding.
"That's why you made it so cold, it's a barrier. It's fine, we'll just go this wa-"
"There you are!" Marceline's exceedingly unusual loud voice reached our ears loud and clear, it reminded me of a crazy person. Vale looked at Lizbeth frightened.
"We won't make it running," she told Lizbeth, who replied with a shrug.
"You can pass, but it won't help much. She's the construction chei-"
"Thanks!" Vale dragged my chained ass through the small patch of warmth visible through the dense frigid air. I looked at Lizbeth curiously as I passed and she looked away, a pained expression in her face.
"What's her problem?"
I pouted as we began to explore the beginning of a new part of dead trees. The temperature gradually began to lift above zero degrees before Vale spoke.
"All I said was hi."
"Release." She commanded. As she came to a stop, the chains that wrapped me had begun to release their hold on me.
We were behind the dead trees that were not engulfed in the cold. I say dumbfounded on a patch of green grass as the chains snaked their way off of me.
What the hell?
"Stay here," she warned. "I'll check the rest out to see if it's safe." I looked at her strangely.
"I can defend myself." Vale gave me a wry smile.
"Sure."
She was gone for five minutes. I was carelessly laid out on the ground, eyes closed but not asleep. I found that that sleep was far long out of my reach. No matter what I did, sleep would not come.
Why can't I go to sleep?
Then another thought began to press into my head.
I realized time had to have past since I've been knocked out by the Titans of war's leader, Kelo, who, by the way, had broken all my limbs.
