Freya

I kept my eyes closed as I felt Mike slip out of the bed and out the door. The familiar comforting scent was still there, but just barely. A thick ominous smell had began to surround him. The only thing about him that was still the same was his personality, and if you'd ask Marceline- his blood.

My hands began to wrap themselves around me. Cold fingers were a pain in the ass. I hated this weather. I was surprised that Michael didn't notice when he went outside.

Opening an eye, I lazily stared at the wall, then succumbed to my tiredness, closing my eye again.

It's winter, I thought to myself. And he left the building with a thin T-shirt and cargo shorts. Chuckling, I smiled to myself.

What type of creature will he be?

"Freya!" Marceline's sharp angry voice cut me out of my hazy thoughts.

"What? Marceline?" I propped myself up onto my elbow and looked at the enraged Marceline. She looked at me with bright neon eyes.

This can't be good.

"Where's Michael!?" She yelled at me. I put a hand up waiting for her to slow down.

"Slow down, he just left. What's with the eyes?" Marceline raised an eyebrow at me in desperation.

"You mean you don't feel it?" She exclaimed. I frowned at her.

"Feel what?" Marceline began to look around the hallway urgently.

"Marceline, what's wrong?"

She looked back at me, this time fangs protruding from her mouth.

"It's Michael," she began. "His power is doing this to all the 'bright eyes'. I thought you'd feel it too... "

I stood off the stretcher and walked to Marceline. I gently slapped her face as her eyes jumped from one thing to another, unable to focus for long.

"Oye. Vampire. Control yourself. I get this is a lot of power for someone young like you. Calm yourself." Marceline frowned at me.

"I am calm." I laughed at her.

She's joking, right?

"Yeah, because the girl who looks like she's ready to tear down the building definitely looks calm." She snorted and I stepped back from her.

"Well, he probably twisted his ankle or something and accidentally drew out his power."

Marceline gave me a face.

"What? It can happen."

Marceline looked at me, trying hard to focus.

"Come" she said urgently. "We have to find him". I nodded as I walked with Marceline out of the infirmary.

"Wait," I told her suddenly remembering something. Marceline looked at me obviously annoyed by the delay, desperation to find him written all over her face.

"Has he met Vale yet?" I inquired. Marceline opened her bright eyes in sudden remembrance.

"You don't think she would..." Marceline trailed off. I looked at Marceline beginning to feel a bit nervous.

"Relax," I told Marceline, trying to reassure her and myself.

"They probably haven't even seen each other yet." Marceline eyed me anxiously and I shrugged it off, trying to cast a not-caring appearance.

When we saw them, my heart dropped in my chest.

"Think again." Vale announced.

Marceline looked at the enraged hunched figure of Michael as his eyes glowed a remarkably bright gold color.
