I shifted uncomfortably on the cold sheets and soft pillow. The ray of light from the window hit me square in the eye, and I turned to my side and faced the wall.

Suddenly sitting up, I ran fingers through my hair as I remembered.

"I have school today!"

Realizing I was too loud, I clamped my hand over my mouth and looked at the hole through the wall. Reddrik was long gone, his bed made nearly without a single crease.

"At least now I can change without him stalking me."

Getting off the bed, I looked and put on a gray collared T-shirt along with done jeans. My red and black addida sneakers still managed to fit my foot perfectly.

"Well then, guess I'm off."

I looked around and peered out the window, moving blinds out of the way. It was blindingly sunny and I winced.

"Better bring some shades." Grabbing sunglasses I never thought I'd need, I put on the black leather jacket Elvin had bought me and decided to leave my bookbag behind.

"I can just tell Ms. Segal I forgot."

Stepping out of the boys dorm, I strolled my way to the school. I hadn't realized that I wasn't wearing the uniform, but then again, I wasn't the first time.

"I think I'm fine." A passbyer girl slapped my butt and I jumped surprised. "What the-?"

A group of blonde girls whistled and continued to walk on. "You are fine!"

Shaking my head in embarrassment, I continued to walk past school gates into the building itself. I found walls once green were painted blue, and girls that wore uniforms had skirts running higher than usual.

I might like this...

"Ah! Look here boys! The nerd comes back a hero!" A group of guys hanging around the bulletin board that was plastered in the hallway surrounded me in seconds as I walked by.

I recognized them as the football team. Taking a closer look, I realized that some, almost all, were members of a gang that had tried to harm Marceline before the war.

The ones Marceline beated the nuts out of while we were dating.

Smiling to myself, I brushed passed them and a tall muscular one got in my face.

"Great," I muttered. Turning around to the larger group of guys, I looked at them curiously as they raised their fist to fight me.

"Put those away."

One of them scoffed and spit at the floor in front of me. Gross.

"Where yer goin Mike?"

I looked at the scrawny looking boy that stepped foward and claimed the spit. His yellow blonde hair and dark eyes weren't really intimidating, rather disturbing. One of his front teeth was missing.

Facing back to the big guy behind me, I glared at him, ignoring everyone behind me.

"Move."

He crossed his arms and pretended not to hear me.

"Great," I uttered annoyed. "My first day back and I'm a victim of bullying. Yay." The scrawny boy jumped in my face and I jumped back. "Yo!"

"Wat chu said boy?" I shook my head and looked into the dark pools that excused themselves for eyes.

"I said," projecting my voice so that his whole little crew could hear. I looked him square in the face and gave a cruel smile.

"Learn how to speak right."

"Oh, you thinks you smart now cause you gots the girls and cause you come back a hero?" He walked up to me and thumped me on my chest. I didn't move.

"You know..." He said, dusting off and fixing my shirt.

"We don't even know how you beat Kelo. Rumor has it he was gold eyes." He eyed me funny and blew me a kiss. I looked at him disgusted.

"Why don you show us how you beated him?" He asked teasing me.

"I'm perty shur the guys luv to see yer moves." I swatted the idea away as the approving grunt began to spread.

"No." I told him coldly.

"I don't have time for this."

Looking back one more time at the big guy, I threatened. "Move...or, I'll kill you."

Okay, so, maybe it was a bit extreme. But in my defense, idiots are idiots until you pop one of them in the face.

The big hefty guy had taken a swing at me the moment the words left my mouth. But I saw it from miles away. It was like, the moment he came at me with aggression,  everything went in slow motion.

I ducked, but when I got up, skinny boy had me in a head lock. Everyone began to line up for punchies.

"Head... head lock is illegal!"

"You think you'a boss cause chu got the school's besuty, Freya?" I cranked my neck up to look at the white monkey.

"So that's what this is about..."

Formulating a plan took five seconds. Carrying it out took ten. Cursing at their limp bodies afterwards took five minutes.

"'Chu hav a problem wit thee way I speak to yhu?' Please. Ever heard of this magical thing called a tutor? How can you live with someone and not have them beat the living hell out of you?"

Turning around, I crouched next to the large disfigured bully who had refused to move.

"And you! I think I'll call you silent bully.  You don't say anything, but you punch fast." I grabbed his wrist and bent his hand. He groaned as I began to add some pressure.

"But tell me silent bully, do you think you'll mind if I... borrow this hand? "

He began to mumble to himself and I smiled. Now I understood why the gang as a whole bullied, the sense of power was so overwhelming. Adding more pressure, I think he began to start sobbing.

"Please...stop..."

I sucked my teeth and drew near his face, which was plastered to the floor.

"What did I tell you I'd do if you didn't move?" He began to sob louder and I repeated the question. There was a mixed mumble of words before it was finally audible.

"Don't kill me...don't kill me... Please don't kill me... please, please... I don't want to die..."

I smiled cruelly and tried to decide his fate. I was interrupted however, by being hit with a metal folding chair.

"What the...?" It registered that the chair hit, but I barely felt a thing. I looked behind me and saw skinny boy holding a metal chair that had an enormous dent in it.

"Can I help you?"

"No, but you can help me." Looking up, I saw Ms. Secaw's curvy figure hovering over me.

"What do you think your doing Mr. Thornson?"

Looking around, I snapped back into reality.

What the hell am I doing...? ... What's wrong with me?
