"You expect me to believe that he almost killed, just because Randy he was in his way?"

She looked at skinny boy to me and shook her had.

"I'd usually expect it to be the other way around."

Me, skinny boy, the big guy named Randy, and Ms. Secaw were all in the classroom. Class would start any minute now, and she was still blabbering about why fighting and almost breaking our human forms was against school rules.

Me? I was thinking about what would be on the lunch menu.

"Mr. Thornson?" I looked up from my chicken filled vision to look at her.

"Yeah?"

"Please don't drool while I'm speaking to you." I touched the side of my lip and found it wet.

"Sorry."

Ms. Secaw sighed then patted the top of my head as I sat hunched over on a student desk.

"It's fine."

She offered me a warm smile that startled me, unintentionally making me blush.

"Just try not to kill your classmates next time, okay?" I nodded stupidly.

"Okay."

"And as for you gentlemen..." The pupils of her eyes extracted turning into black slits that resembled a lot like a cats eye.

"Detention after school for two hours everyday for the next two months."

"What!?" Skinny boy roared. "But he almost kill-"

"Three months!" She added on. She smiled at them, but her eyes held no warmth like they did for me.

"Care for another?" Randy held skinny boy back from lunging in outrage at his teacher. The both of them looked back at me and skinny boy stick up the middle finger before they bolted out.

"What unruly children..." Muttering, she looked at me and her eyes returned to normal. Messing up my hair, she turned away from me and to the chalkboard.

"Go to your seat Mike. Class will be starting soon".

Ten minutes later, we were exploring the depths of trigonometry and why cats were better then almost all creatures. It's two completely different things, I know. But she found a way to mix them. Surprisingly, she found a way.

Though they were barely audible and close to silent, I heard the whispers that spread throughout the classroom.

Marceline looked at me worried as she sat in the desk next to me, despite it being the back row and the corner closest to the chilly window.

"Is it him?" They whispered.

"He killed who?"

"He's actually kind of hot..."

For the last comment, Marceline stopped being enlightened by the teachers knowledge of cats and perked up her slightly pointed ears to better hear the origin of the comment.

"Uh oh, watch the bat bitch."

"Are you okay?" I asked her when I saw her face flush red, with anger or embarrassment.

I leaned over to get closer and I looked at her. She flashed a quick look in my direction then back to the board, nodding yes, then back to the teacher that was drawing a full scaled giant cat eating fish all over the board. I bit back a laugh and Marceline smiled.

"Tough morning?" Freya asked when it was lunch. Me and Marceline had been introduced to the cafeteria for the first time, the doors to the roof being locked due to several student attempting to commit suicide. Fascinating, I know.

"Naw, it was fine." I continued to eat the chilly on my plate while Freya sat on the table, whereas Marceline sat next to me, like a regular person would, on the bench.

Swinging the feet below her, she received a flirtatious wink by everyone that passed her. Irritated that all these guys all liked the one same person, I remained silent afterwards and continued to eat away.

"It was fine? Rumor has it you almost killed Randy from the Double Headed Dragon's gang. The only person who used to do that was me." Marceline eyed me curiously as I didn't respond.

Stuffing food into my mouth, I tried my best not to smile as I thought of the pleasure I would have received breaking Randy's arm off, and breaking Skinny's finger one by one.

Huh? I stopped completely and glared at the spoonful of chilly. When the hell did I become a masochist?

I touched my head and for the first time ever, it was cool to the touch, icy even.

Something was wrong.

"Hey. Zombie." Freya poked my face with a finger.

"Did you hear? We asked you if it was true. Did you almost kill Randy?" I looked at her face pale. My head fell between my legs the instant the last word rolled from her mouth. I felt the color drain from my cheeks. My face felt white. Then green. I was throwing up all the chilly I had just eaten.

"Ew." Passing girls said as I threw up. When I finished, I picked my head up heavily and took a look at them. They gasped, and continued walking. Freya shooed them away and Marceline was at my side within an instant.

"Breath," she murmured in my ear. She was gently shoved aside as Freya stepped over what I called the puddle of weird things. Making me face away from the puddle, she looked at me as I my head slowly moved till my eyed matched hers. It felt like gravity was pushing me down to the floor.

"It must have been the food." Freya said over her shoulder to Marceline, who perked her eyed up.

"Was it poisoned?" Freya shook her head no smiling.

"Maybe he's just a vegetarian."
