She went to sleep so i quietly got up to make a call home. i told one of the guys to stay with her bevause i didnt want her to be alone if she woke up.

i walked into the waiting room, which i was in before, and dialed my mum. she picked up then asked me in a hurried voice where i was. because it was getting late into the day and i forgot to call her. and she's been waiting all day. oh no.

"mum im sorry i didnt call earlier. but um me and the guys are at the hospital. Evelyn's body shut down on the plane here so they had to figure out what was happening to her in heart surgery."

"oh my lord lucas. im on my way right now." she said then hung up before i could respond.

i sighed then  walked back to the room. the guys got some snacks and ate quietly in the room. i walked in and calum was next to Ev, holding her hand slightly.

i dont think it bothered me as much as it should have. i knew he still loved her. but i just had to put that behind everything. because i know Evelyn chose me. she didnt choose calum.

it also didnt bother me because his somewhat bestfriend just had heart surgery. i would want to be there for any of my best friends if that had happened.

once calum saw me he quickly got up then moved to a differnt chair. i gave a quick glance at him but his head was down. i thought it was weird but i just ignored then sat back down next to her. softly stroking her hand and playing with her fingers.

"my mum is comming down." i softly spoke, my eyes still stuck on evelyn.

"thats good." ashton said after a minute or so.

just then my mum walked in and immediately her heart sank. i could see it in her face.

"oh my god.." she gasped at the tubes and wires hooked up to evelyn. i stood up to make way for her but she hugged me instead.

"shes just sleeping at the moment.." i whispered as i felt heat come to my eyes.

once we pulled away i saw her wipe a tear away from her face. then said a hello to the boys.

then she walked closer to the bed and kissed ev's head and took a moment to look at her. then she slowly woke up again. right away she smiled.

"hi liz.." she said in her raspy tone.

"oh sweetheart.. what the hell happened to you!" she chuckled then sat down in my seat.

"im okay, just a little messed up" she chuckled sadly. mum smiled back with tears in her eyes.

"ill be okay liz."

"yes you will. Ill make sure of it."

then i walked over and pulled up a chair on the other side of her. she turned her head slightly towards me and smiled that beautiful little smile she has. im so lucky to have her with me still.

"i love you." i mouthed. she mouthed back smiling more.

"well do you know when you get out of here?" my mum asked sitting back.

"The doctor said in a week or so for obervation." i answered for Evelyn so she didnt have to talk anymore. i could tell she was thankful i did.

"then how about i go home, and prep a bed for you."

"Mum you have a week to do that." i said.

"i want to make sure its perfect for her." she said getting up and smiling at Evelyn. "I'll see you guys in a little bit." she waved at the boys sitting behind me. they waved back with a smile.

"you guys dont have to stay, i know you're family is probably waiting for you." i said turning to face all three if them.

"im sorry, but yeah i have to get back, my mum is probably getting worried about me." michael said, getting up. "Evelyn, im honestly so sorry this happened. but i know you'll be fine. you're strong." he smiled at her and she smiled back.

"its okay michael. love you." she whispered. he squeezed her hand then left.

once Evelyn fell asleep, i started to doze off as well. then i felt a tap on my shoulder. it was calum. apparently ashton left. which was fine.

"luke, go home and get some sleep for a little bit. i can watch her, make sure shes okay." he whispered.

"no calum i can watch her." i yawned.

"dude, you need some sleep. at least go lay down in the waiting room.

"fine. just dont leave her alone." i said sleepily. then i went to go lay down somewhere.

calum:
she was perfect. i was hoping i could get a chance where we could be alone. i slowly grabbed her hand and stroked it. she was cold. probably underoxygenated or something.

after a minute she started to wake up. then her beautiful eyes appeared on me. she smirked.

"wheres luke?" she rasped.

"hes taking a nap somewhere. he wanted me to look over you while he was asleep. but um hey listen," she looked at me waiting for an answer.

"i just wanted you to know, if ur scared or if you are just needing someone to talk to im here alright." i wasnt gonna say that. i was goint to tell her i loved her. and that i wanted to be the one taking care of her. i wanted to lay in bed next to her every night and have her tell me how she was feeling or what she was thinking about. i wanted her to tell me she loved me instead of luke. i wanted to be the one she chose that night.. but she chose him..
