Dear Miles Cade,
Happy birthday to the most funny, cheesiest, smartest, and nicest guy I know. We met freshman year and ever since then my life has been filled with more happiness than I could ever express through words.
I remember realizing the moment after we met that I knew I picked the right person to sit next to on the first day of school. We had so much fun that first year together. Building cardboard boats to take down to the bay and the fact that you convinced me I looked beautiful in a swimsuit despite even to this day thinking that I am not. One my favorite days freshman year was when you helped me discover spray paint and we totally vandalized the school together, good times. Then it was my birthday and you shouted it to the entire grade and made them notice me... I still hate/love you for that.
Then Sophomore year came and the tradition of siting together on the first day had officially started. I always knew that you were smart, but that one day in chemistry when you said the entire periodic table without looking made me really impressed. You're a genius underneath handsome face of yours. You're personality really shined through that year. I know I rarely tell you, but I didn't hang out with you because of your looks. If anything that year made me realize that there is so much about you that I wanted to know.
Junior year is when I poured that smoothie on you that I mentioned before in the other letter. That's when, I'll admit, I started getting jealous that other girls were getting your attention. I mean, come on, you're my best friend and I need to make sure that the girl you're going to date is perfect for you. That was the year I realized you put our friendship first. I don't what I did to deserve you, but I'm eternally grateful.
Senior year was by far my favorite year that I have ever spent with you in high school. You took me to prom and you didn't have to. I didn't even know how to dance until you taught me that night. I still remember the accidental kiss that we had that night on my doorstep. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. Sometimes I wonder what would've happened if we didn't try to forget about it. Nevertheless we've spent all these years together and I learned that night that you would always be by my side.
You're my best friend and I hope that those people on that boat are wishing you a happy birthday. You better be getting a cake and presents and I hope you like the present I sent you. You're the best person I could ever have in my life and I hope you know how much I care about you.
I love you Miles. Happy birthday.
I'll love you always,
Piper Cheyenne
