Dear Miles Cade,Good news and bad news. I'll start off with the bad news because your last letter to me seemed very sweet and concerned, but you have to understand that this situation with Mason has been going on for months now. I know that you didn't know he would grab me only when he is drunk, but the minute you figured it out I had to stop you from kicking his ass.
So, here's the bad news: Mason is still very angry. I get invisible threats from him. By invisible I mean, I doubt he's going to do anything. Bradley is trying to get the cops to listen and put Mason in juvie, for a long time, but they won't because just grabbing me is not enough evidence.
Then there's the good news: Mason will hopefully see a therapist and stop drinking. His friends told me their trying to convince him, but I don't know. Ryker got one out of his lifetime of Twinkies and his eye is healing up very well. Bradley is lecturing the crap out of the cops right now on the phone and I'm feeling relieved that I'm not in that relationship.
I should clarify for you: Mason has never hit me. He's come close to hitting me, but he would mainly grab me and leave marks on my wrist or arm. That's why I wrote "an almost abusive relationship" because in reality, yes he was aggressive, but I don't know whether to call it abusive if he didn't hit me.
All I know now is that you're my best friend and I'm sorry I didn't listen to you when you told me Mason was bad news. You were right and I'm sorry. I know this situation will clear up soon, but I wish it didn't happen in the first place.
I can't wait to hug you again when you come back. I know we have until August 13th, but I really hope this summer turns around for the better. I really do. I'll write you tomorrow.
I'll be thinking of you always,
Piper Cheyenne
