Epilogue
Piper Cheyenne's POV:
Laughter escaped my lips as I squeezed the hand I was holding; nudging him a bit I rolled my eyes playfully. I turned my direction ahead of me to see Riley and Ryker waving their hands happily in the air.
I wave back as we got closer to them, "Riles! Ry!"
"There's our favorite couple," Ryker claimed with a teasing smile on his lips.
"Speaking of couple, when are you two going to make things official? It's been, what? Nine months?" I question knowing what I walked into.
Riley scoffed at me, "Says the person that took four years to realize she was in love."
"Four years?" Miles said astonished, "Was it really four years?"
"Yes it was babe," I answer, "It was worth the wait to realize because now I can do this."
Miles was taller than me, so I had to get on my tiptoes to give him a peck on the cheek. He grinned, but only I saw that flicker of sadness in his eyes. After two months it was confirmed that Miles would not remember anything about his past, but that didn't stop him from reading the letters. He read every single one I wrote and had a good idea in his mind of what kind of person he thought he was.
Once he got comfortable enough around Riley, Ryker, and I again, he acted less worried about what we would think about him. There were moments he would ask a question if he didn't know what the conversation was about. I will not lie, it does feel weird whenever that happens, but he always makes up for it by joking around about his memory.
Needless to say, after two months gone by he gathered up the courage thanks to Ryker to ask me out on a proper date. Of course, I said yes. I knew that it would take time for him to gradually fall in love with me again, but he was worth the wait.
As I'm staring at Miles who is next to me, I realized that everything him and I went through together was for a reason. It brought us to this moment, happy together, and with our friends. I couldn't be happier.
"Pip, you've been making lovely dovey eyes at Miles for two minutes now," Ryker said interrupting my thoughts, "Can you please come back down from cloud nine?"
"What are you thinking about darling?" Miles asked me giving me a loving look.
I shrug, "Just thinking about how much I love you."
"I love you too darling," He responded with a wide grin that still made my heart skip beats.
Ryker pretended to gag; it made Riley laugh as she placed her hand on his shoulder. He tensed up and got flustered, but soon relaxed once he realized that she didn't move it away. These two, I swear.
"Anyway enough of this lovey dovey stuff! It's time to go to the club to celebrate!" Riley shouted at the top of her lungs.
"Celebrating what?" Miles asked slightly confused at the change of subject.
Riley and Ryker gave me that look, which I responded with as a sheepish shrug. I turned toward Miles, but before I could speak Ryker and Riley pulled me away from him.
"Piper got a photography job at a big corporation!" They both yelled making me put my face in my hands.
"That's great!" He shouted as he rushed towards me and picked me up spinning me in circles, "This has been your dream! I'm so proud of you!"
"Thank you! Thank you!" I squeal with a smile, "Put me down now you dork!"
Miles let me down gently, but still kept his arm around my waist. He didn't know that I had applied for a photography job, but I didn't tell him on purpose. I wanted to surprise him. He knew how much photography meant to me and seeing the proud smile on his face made me smile back.
"I'm glad you two are together after that whole overseas trip. You both deserve each other."
I stare at Miles one last time before we all head out to the club to celebrate, "What can I say? We were meant to be."
"That was very cheesy darling," Miles commented making me give him a look.
"Excuse me, but you always say the cheesy lines. It was finally my turn."
Miles gave me a quick peck on the lips, much to Riley and Ryker's dismay and chuckled, "Even if we were oceans apart, she still rode a wave right into my heart."
"Oh my gosh," Riley groaned, "You both are the cheesiest people I know! Can we please go to the club so I can get my groove on?"
"Yes, yes, lets go," Ryker agreed putting an arm around Riley, "I want to dance with Riles at least once before you two start going on lovely dovey again."
Miles and I ignored their words and followed them, but we did have smiles on our faces.
I didn't think that sending those letters to Miles would end up like this, but if I knew back then what would happen now. I wouldn't change a single thing. I would keep all the good, all the bad, and everything else in between.
Some people say you only have one soul mate. I can definitely say that I found my soul mate. It's Miles Cade.
The End, Again.
