Dear Miles Cade,
Hey Miles, it's Riley. Let me explain. Your darling (as you call her, yes she admitted you call her that when Ryker and I are not around) is drunk and passed out on my couch. Before she fell asleep she told me to write you a letter because she didn't want to leave you hanging, again. Let me just say, she admits a lot of things when she is drunk, but surprisingly it was only about you.
Where do I start? The first thing Piper said was that she misses you a lot and more than she'll admit in these letters. She then continued with and I quote saying, "I can't wait to give that seaweed brain the biggest hug until he falls over on the floor!" Trust me it took a while to understand that sentence because she was slurring the entire time.
Me, being the sober responsible young adult I am: I used this chance to ask her about you (despite her talking about you for a good thirty minutes already).
Do you ever notice the way her eyes light up when she talks about you? She clasps her hands together, pink in the cheeks, and a genuine smile that wouldn't leave her face.
Do you also realize that Piper's been falling for you since the day you two met? She didn't know back then; she didn't even know through out the whole four years of our high school lives. I think she's started to realize that now because the day you left I saw her face that day. It was like a switch had been flipped in her brain.
I know that you're feeling the exact same way towards her. That's why I always knew I wouldn't have a chance with you. I liked you because you were a good guy, but Piper explained all the things about you that I didn't know so I would know how to make you happy. I realized that she had been pushing her feelings away for my sake.
Piper is such a good friend and deserves to be happy. That's why I moved on. If I told her I liked you, she would resign and say she's fine, but I know she would be lying.
I don't know when you two will get together, but don't rush it with her, okay? In time it will all come together. Until then, enjoy the moment for what it is. Hopefully she'll be the one writing you tomorrow and not read this, ha.
She'll write you tomorrow! (Maybe?)
She'll adore you always,
Piper Cheyenne Riley Marie
