Dear Miles Cade,
Remember the first day we met freshman year? I was in literature class, I took my seat next you, and you immediately fell off your chair once you noticed I was sitting next to you. I still remember the first thing that you said to me. You said and I quote, "I suppose I've fallen for you."
In that moment, I knew, you were the cheesiest person I will ever know. In response to that I said and I quote, "I haven't yet, sorry."
You're probably wondering why I'm talking about that memory than explaining what happened yesterday. The letter you sent me back was just filled with worry and concern, I'm very sorry for that. I'll explain it briefly okay? Mason doesn't want you to know, so hopefully he won't find out.
After we left the store, he started to yell and get angry. I got upset and called a taxi to take me home. I was writing the letter while crying when I hear a loud banging on the front door, I looked through the peephole, and it had been Mason. He had a beer in his hand and he knew that I was home alone. I knew I shouldn't have opened the door, but I did because I wanted to stand up for myself.
He started slurring these cuss words at me, but the moment he tried to grab me I knew I would always be trapped in this relationship with him. I was grateful that Bradley got home in time and stopped Mason. He warned Mason that if he ever tries to lay on finger on me again that he'd call the cops.
Bradley told me to break up with Mason, but... I told him I couldn't. I just can't. Please understand. Bradley is mad at me, but it's complicated.
It's only the beginning of summer and this is already happening. I'll write you tomorrow.
Think of me always,
Piper Cheyenne
