I'm exhausted by our final song. I trudge off the stage, glaring at the floor. That is, until I hear a shriek and look up to see a short girl with long wavy blonde hair running up to Louis.
She throws her arms around him, knocking him backwards.
I bite my tongue and roll my eyes. Some girls.
"Louis! It's been two years! Oh God, I never thought I'd see you again!" The girl squeals letting him out of her death grip.
"Same to you, Melody..." He mumbles, running a hand through his hair. He notices me, and catches my eye. It's both a look of disgust and relief. He reaches a hand out and I attach myself to his side. The girl, Melody's, smile drops a little, and she tilts her head to the side.
"Well, well, well." She huffs, scrunching her nose.
"Melody, this is Amber. I'm sure you've hear about her." Louis says, pulling me closer to him.
"Oh of course, I've heard... plenty." She smiles evilly, her nose twitching once more.
"Well.... we have to get ready to go..." Louis mumbles, glancing from me to Melody. I nod and he hauls me away down the hallway.
"Well she seems nice." I say sarcastically as he slows to a stop outside my door.
"She's usually nicer..." He smiles sadly. He leans in and places a kiss on my nose.
"I'll meet you back here in ten minutes." He says walking away.

"So, Am-ber." I hear a voice say behind me. I turn around, and in the dim light of the room, I see Melody's figure standing cross-armed in the doorway.
"Melody." I huff, and turn back to my bag.
"How's Louis now a days? I hope he's treating you well." I hear the floor creak as she walks closer to me.
"He's fine. And no need to worry; he is." Her feet come into my vision, bright pink flats.
"Oh, that's good. Your arms look better." I can already see the sly smile on her face in my mind, and it takes everything in me not to swipe it off.
"Yeah." Is all I say. I finish shoving my things into my bag, and stand up throwing it over my shoulder. We stare at each other for a few seconds, and then the water works come.
"I want him back, Amber! He was mine! You cant have him!" She lunges at me, and her small frame collides with mine, knocking the bag off my shoulder and pushing me onto the floor. I sit up and push her flailing body away from mine. My head pounds and my eyes are blurry. I rub the back of my head where I hit the floor, and I cringe away from the feeling. Melody is crumpled on the floor in front of me, wailing her little head off.
"Amber?!" Harry and Niall race through the open door, and spot us on the floor.
"Amber what happened?" Niall questions, kneeling down next to me.
"She attacked me." I sigh, gesturing towards the still crying Melody.
"I always knew she was a bit of a cry baby." Niall chuckles, and Harry refrains from busting out laughing, his lips pulled tight and his dimples showing.
"Come on Melody, enough is enough." Niall not so lightly kicks her shoulder and she flips over away from him.
"I... I'll go get Paul..." Harry laughs, turning and walking out of the room.
Niall helps me to my feet and grabs my bag, tossing it over his shoulder. He leads me to the door with a light hand against my shoulder. We leave the weeping Melody to herself and walk away.
****
Louis and I curl up together in the backseat of the van, huddling together to keep warm. Niall joins our group in the van, giving room for the distraught Melody in the other van. We all end up laughing and joking around about her little melt down.
"Niall, tell me she wasn't always like that!" Louis laughs, and Niall just laughs harder.
"Oh she was ALWAYS like that Louis! Cry about this, cry about that!" We pull into the hotel parking lot, and girls scream at the front door.
"God they're everywhere!" Cali laughs from the front seat.
"They're like parasites!" Niall yells, and we all bust up laughing even harder than before.
"I'll be sure to tell your fans you just called them diseases." I say, patting Niall's shoulder.
"Yeah, no, you don't have to do that." He smiles, climbing down out of the van and onto the pavement. We all scramble out after him, shielding each other from the wind. Charles leads our little huddle towards the doors, Paul and his little huddle follow close behind. The girls make a walk way big enough for each of us to slip through, and then we're hit by the warm air of the hotel lobby.
"Ah, nice and toasty." Cali chuckles, rubbing her arms.
We make our way to the elevator, Louis' hand clamping tight around mine.
The elevator seems so small, the seven of us crammed inside. I lean into Louis' shoulder as the floor numbers click above our heads, and I pray that Melody wont be staying the night.
My nightmare is true.
"Melody's gonna stay with us tonight, her flight leaves tomorrow at nine." Charles sighs, leading us down the hallway and towards our rooms.
"Great." I hear Luke mumble behind me, and I can't help but smile. Same Luke, same.
Cali and Marlene head off into their suite, Luke opens the next door and trudges into his, and Charles points to my door.
"Thanks Charles." I say with a small smile, and he nods back.
I take Louis into my room, and he throws himself down onto the bed.
"Oh my God." He laughs, rubbing his face with his hands.
"Tell me about it." I sigh, pressing myself against the wall, and slide down to the floor. I stare up at him, my chin resting on my knees.
"Amber, come here." He says, and he hangs a hand over the edge of the bed for me. I reach up and take it, and pull myself up off the floor and onto the bed. I roll on next to him, tucking my head between his and his shoulder. He links our fingers together, squeezing my hand tight.
I lay and listen to his breathing until his fingers slowly slip away from mine. I stare across his chest, out into the world outside the window, the streetlights shining through the darkness far below.
If only life could stay this way forever...
Sorry this chapter is so short, and that it's taken me so long to update. Thanks for everything guys.
