We let the twins rest in the clinic for awhile. We continued to go through our daily schedules. As we go out of the clinic, I saw Clark was outside, he seems hesitant to come inside and take a look at what's happening, seeing how he is acting up again, I came up to him
"Hey, you look bothered, is something wrong?" I asked him
"Oh it's nothing, I was just worried about those two" He replied
"Are you sure that's the only thing you're worried about?" I said
"Yes, I'm fine. Honest." He said then he smiled, which is obviously fake
He's not even giving some effort to conceal his emotions. Before I could say another word to him, He just walked away, He walked away like a kitten seeing a butterfly for the first time and just follows it. He just left me there without saying anything.
Everything was just getting worse. The Propaganda videos that we shown got a different reaction to what we expected. We expected it to make people think about their mistreatment of Androids, to have them turn over a new leaf, but instead, we just made them more afraid, more Lethal.
I stood outside for a few minutes. I shivered a little bit as the harsh cold wind blew while I stare out onto the dark-ish sky and somehow it fits everything perfectly, everything just feels and looks hopeless, looks so bleak, as if there's no tomorrow.
After awhile, I went back inside the warehouse. Before I continue doing my schedule I wanted to see Hazel if she's alright. I've been wandering around for fifteen minutes already but I still couldn't find her, so I just scratched that thought in my head and I just continued doing the tasks assigned to me.
I was assigned to take the newly harvested crops to the supply room. The first thing I did was take the crops from the Greenhouse and I took them to the supply room then I was supposed to place them properly according to their type, whether it was a vegetable or a fruit.
As I was arranging the vegetables, I came across the box that had the small back door behind it. I got curious again and I decided to take one more peek inside that room. I moved the boxes to the side then I opened the small door
I crawled through the small opening then I stood up when I got inside. I walked through the hallways slowly, looking for any differences from the last time I got inside here. Visually, I couldn't find any difference but the lighting has changed, It's more darker here now
When I got to the room, The first thing I noticed was how clean it is now, the cobwebs are now gone, the floor is dusted and the dirty plates and the buckets that I found here before are no longer here.
The room was cleaned out of it's evidence, there was nothing to see there. I was double checking the room then as I turn my back to leave, I saw Nathan just walked in here, I can see on his face that he was intrigued
"Whoa, I've never seen this room before" Nathan said in his amazement
Nathan walked and looked around the room
"How did you find this room? I've been here for three years and I've never seen this before" Nathan said
"Well, I was just putting some supplies in some boxes, but as I moved some boxes, I found a small backdoor" I said
"Besides that, did you hear noise, see a light or something like that?" Nathan said
"No, I just found that there" I said. Although I heard some muffled screams when I found this, I just didn't say it to Nathan as he is close to Neil and he may say it to him
"We should probably leave now, I still need to do some things" I said
"Yeah, you're probably right" Nathan said
I leave first, I crawl out of the room then I waited for Nathan to come out. After Nathan came out, I closed the door and pushed back the crate that was used to block that door from ever seeing daylight
"I probably shouldn't tell that to anybody" Nathan said
"Yes you probably shouldn't" I said
"Alright, I was checking you out, I should probably check on everybody else, See you later Shawn" Nathan said then he left
I continued to put the crops in the boxes but I still couldn't get my eyes and thoughts off the whole back room thing. Why was that even there, why is it hidden, what was it's purpose and why doesn't Nathan know about it
My instincts tell me that there is something malicious lurking in the shadows of this small society. But nevertheless, I shouldn't think about it too much, We have bigger problems than this simple thing that's only bothering me and it's probably just a misunderstanding
After an hour or so, I finished stocking up the crops. I was assigned to more tasks, I was assigned to help plant new vegetables, change the filters in the water filtration system and help cook lunch. As I do these tasks, the thought of the back room is still latched to my head, so I couldn't focus and do my job properly
After a few hours, I finished all of my tasks and I am free to go and do whatever I want until two o' clock this afternoon, which is when my next task on my schedule is. The first thing I thought was to check out on the twins in the infirmary
As I go nearer to the Infirmary, I hear laughter getting louder and louder. When I got to the infirmary and I see that Hazel is there with the twins. Kurt is asleep on the bed while Hugo and Hazel are telling stories to each other
"Oh, you're here. I could find you anywhere" I said to Hazel
"Yeah, Neil dismissed me off my duties to look after these two until they get better" Hazel said
"So, what are you guys talking about" I said then I smiled at them
"Oh nothing" Hazel said while still giggling a little bit
"We were just talking about some embarrassing stories" Hugo said while laughing
"Oh really, can you tell me one" I said, but I got interrupted as the electricity comes back
I can hear engines and generators starting up outside. As the lights turn on, the people applauded then I see Neil ran fast to open the television. As the television turned on, everyone stopped what they were doing. Everyone looked up to the television
Hazel and I wanted to see what was the commotion about, so we told Hugo to look after his brother for awhile. The both of us go pass through the crowd to the front, when we got there, we stood with Nathan, Neil and Clark
The television booted up and the first thing that was broadcasted was the News. Everyone was anticipating for what the News is
"Hello and Good Morning, My name is Perri George with American News Authority , I am currently in L.A. and you can see Anti-Android Protesters behind me. I am pleased to say that we are back. After days of Propagandist Videos being broadcasted throughout the Television and Internet Networks, we have finally regained control of the broadcast, although the broadcaster of these videos is still unknown." The reporter said
Everyone let out a sigh of relief as our security is, thankfully, not yet compromised.
"And there is more bad news coming right up, as multiple Androids have been reported to malfunction and disobey their owners, some are even rebelling. These reported Androids are caught and are to be brought back to their factories to be fixed. But some Androids have escaped, so be wary of your surroundings. Also, we got news that these broadcasts have spread across Asia and Europe. As of right now, our experts are communicating with the technicians there to help them with their problem. That is all, what is happening in the studio Mike?" The reporter said
Neil turned the TV off as he was realizing the situation that the world has got in.
