When my father brought up school at our daily 6:00:00 meal, I couldn't stifle a groan.
All throughout class yesterday, the girls kept flirting with the teacher. They always answered questions, asked questions, etcetera, etcetera. I would probably be able to say the same about today.
Javi hadn't noticed though. He was smiling like a kid-- or rather, a teenage boy. "L. Gatti is great, father. He laughs at my jokes and even makes jokes back."
My father glanced up in suspicion. "Isn't that... unprofessional, you think?"
I quickly defended Mr. Gatti. "No, father, he does his work really well. I learned a lot after just a few days."
My father shrugged and got up, signaling the end of our meal.

Again, I was one of the earliest students in the class. I took the same place as I usually did in the way back. Mr. Gatti gave me a smile and turned to a girl who was asking a question. I blushed. His smile was ok.
Cassi sat down beside with a 'hmph.'
"Hello, Kara," Cassi told me. She wasn't looking at me, though. She was glaring at the girl talking to Mr. Gatti.
I heard a buzz and immediately everyone went to their seats.
"Hello, class. Glad to see you all again." A few of the girls giggled. A few of the guys 'whoo'ed. "Today I'll be talking to you about History. Like, beyond centuries history. We're talking about the 2000's."
I suddenly got excited. I loved learning about history, it made me happy knowing that people before us had better lives.
"Now, can anyone tell me about things that happened in the 2000's?"
Two people raised their hand-- Javi and a girl named Vexi. Mr. Gatti called on my brother.
"Wasn't there like separate governments for the world? And, like, different places? And stuff." I rolled my eyes. My brother didn't know much about history.
Mr. Gatti chuckled. "Yes, kind of. Anyone else?"
Cassi raised her hand.
"Yes?"
She gave a huge smile with all her teeth. "Well, the government ran on a 'democracy'. Basically giving the people too much freedom and the government not enough."
Mr. Gatti nodded without looking at her. "Anyone else?"
No hands went up. He smiled. "Come on, guys. That's all you know about the 2000's?" No one said anything. He shrugged. "Well, yes, both of you are partly correct. The United States, what they called 'the power country', was ran on a democracy. Along with other countries and governments. What Javi was trying to say was that there were different kinds of government because everyone was serperated."
I smiled because I knew that people back then had good lives. At least, people in the United States or the United Kingdom. I always liked how they said, 'United' like they were all a big family. Nowadays, there weren't any wars or fights, so there was no reason to be united. Sometimes I felt like I didn't know anybody in my City.
"Back then, there were too many wars and not enough peace. So, the world made an agreement in the late 3900's. We'd all come together to be one government, with one set of laws and one way to do things."
