Okay, so the whole "declaring war on all other Cities" was a fairly bad idea.
I said the words, "Men, this is the beginning of a war," and each President started yelling at me. Apparently, declaring war is a far greater deal than I realized.
"What were you thinking?" Jove groaned and shook his head. Despite my outburst towards him when he asked me out, Jove wasn't that bad. I needed someone to help me through this presidency, and I knew Jove wouldn't have the rebellion attitude Cassi and Lake had. I needed someone who didn't know what I was doing.
"Don't talk to me like that," I snapped back at him.
His head whipped towards me with a dark glare. "Why not? You wouldn't dispose of me, anyways."
"Whatever happened to that nerdy, stammering boy I met?" I mumbled.
"Queen! Listen! You can't just declare war in our peaceful, warless government. You're absolutely insane!"
I exhaled slowly out of my mouth to avoid lashing out at the boy. My gramlet was full of messages, missed comms, and various newsgrams about me.
Queen Nova disturbs centuries of peace after only eight days of being queen.
The City of navy blue and sailor white's new Queen Nova declares war on all other Cities in her Section.
Queen Nova, greediest, most power hungry Queen planet Earth has ever had.
Okay, I think that title was a bit of an exaggeration. Truly I couldn't be worse than the ghost of Queen Mary I, nicknamed 'Bloody Mary' due to her supposed hauntings.
All things aside, this was just part of my plan. To stir things up a bit and bring everyone to their senses. It wasn't really working, but I'd keep pushing. I wasn't going to give up so easily. Change doesn't come effortlessly.
"It's fine," I finally said. I broke into a beaming smile. "It's all okay."
His dark eyes narrowed and his eyebrows scrunched together. "Are you sure?"
My features hardened. "Yes! Now go back to your position!" I scolded. He scoffed, but ambled out of the room nonetheless.
Once the door fell shut, I mumbled illegible sentences under my breath. My fingers made their way to my temples and massaged them in attempts to avoid my upcoming migraine.
My comm started beeping again. Being in this position, I had quickly learned how to drown out the noise. I stealthily glanced at the comm. It was just one of my Authority guards. I sighed and accepted the comm. "Yes?"
"Your Highness, I have a problem with one of your prisoners," a somewhat famaliar Authority voice said. Despite there only being about five or six Authority guards who had the permission to speak with me, I hadn't bothered to learn their names. It wouldn't matter in the long run.
"Just dispose of them," I hummed.
"Well, he says that you two know each other. He would just like to speak with you, and he would stop with the disturbances."
I stiffened and frowned. Lake?
"Which one is it?" I brooded while flicking through yet another article about myself on a newsgram.
