Endless plains flew past my eyes. Javi, hands still bound together with ropes like mine, was laying his head back on the seat. Eyes closed, breaths steady. I rolled my eyes, he was asleep.

I nudged his shoulder. Javi's eyes fluttered open with a sudden alertness. "What? What?" Jolting, his confused eyes darted around the cramped car.

"Nothing," I said. "You looked so peaceful sleeping. Naturally, as a sister, I had to disturb it."

He shot a dark glare towards me before tilting his head back with a groan. "Are we almost home?"

"No," the unfamiliar driver snapped in a gruff voice. It had been the first time he said anything the whole ride, and the ride had already been nearly two hours.

My lips tightened as I stared into the back of his seat. It was a neutral grey, like clouds on a particularly stormy day. "How much longer is there left?"

A low grunt sounded from the driver. "Few minutes," he grumbled.

I frowned and my eyebrows scrunched together. "What's a minute?"

The driver didn't respond for a few moments, though I could distinctly hear him mumbling, "kids these days" under his breath. He finally snarked, "Sixty seconds. A minute. They don't use the term in your cities, or whatever 'er called."

"What do you mean? Don't you live in a city?"

The driver snickered. "No. Constant government propaganda and brainwashing? No thanks, Miss."

My thoughts were jumbled in a ball of confusion. What was he talking about? Yes, cities were awful, but you had to live in them. That was the unfortunate point. "Then where do you live?" I pryed for more information.

"Miss, I'm here to drive. And that's all. I ain't tellin' you 'bout my life story."

I dared a glance towards my brother. He seemed just as confused, lines in his brow and eyebrows angled down.

"Wait, I'm just confused--"

"Miss. I heard from my employer that you're an important public figure, or somethin' like it. That said, you wouldn't understand." He clearly wanted to tell me more, he probably didn't get the chance to often. I could tell from his voice, the way it had a certain distance to it and a half-heartly tone. "Anyways, we're here."

My heart lept with joy and my eyes rushed to the windows. Surely enough, the famaliar incaging feeling of a navy blue and white city settled back into me upon seeing outside. Simply two colors for as far as a farsighted person could see.

"We are here," my brother nearly squeled.

The car came to an abrupt and halting stop. "Get out," the driver snapped.

I tugged against the ropes around my small wrists. "Um, we kind of can't."

"What are you talking about? Get out of my car."

My brother spoke up, "We're tied up. We literally can't move our hands."

After some grumbling under his breath, he started rummaging through a compartment near him. A few long seconds passed by, and a rusty thing was thrown back at us. Upon further inspection, it could be deciphered as a knife-- though, with red splotches covering it and the extreme dull point, one could hardly consider it a knife.

"Okay, now get out."

I rolled my eyes. Javi, with his elbows bending awkwardly and his face in extreme concentration, managed to grab ahold of the knife. "Hold out your arms," he said.

With a mere second of hesitation, I did as told. He roughly sawed the knife against my binding rope. A few seconds of attempted laceration went by, yet not a single strand of the rope was even frayed.

"This isn't working," said Javi, his tone holding utmost frustration. His dark eyebrows were furrowed together so much, at first glance it could appear as a unibrow.

Flecks of crusty rust were sprinkling onto his hands and my own. I sighed. "I just want to go home," I said. Unlike his, my voice held absolutely no determination. It was only abundant on desperation, hopelessness, and a hint of gripe.

"Look, I do have other people to serve, and--" The driver's voice was cut short due to a sudden frenzied knocking heard on his window. Ignoring Javi, who was still unachievingly tearing away at the rope, I turned my head towards my own window.

A worried, confused, and probably very angry Jove was staring back at me. Hope lifted in my heart. I tore my hands away from Javi and banged on the window. The car door pulled open. I hadn't realized I was leaning on the car door until I tumbled out of it.

With no hands to stop my fall, my whole body fumbled to the ground like a fish out of water. A pair of hands grasped my arms and heaved me onto my feet.

"Nova! Galaxies. The whole City was going physcotic without you! Who kidnapped you? I will have them disposed of imm--" Jove was ranting in a single breath.

"Calm down. First, get a knife," I spoke slowly in attempts of calming his erratic breathing.

His eyes widened measurably. With jerky and abrupt movements, he pulled out a dark blue bag and foraged through it. In a fit of sudden glory, he slipped out a small pocket knife.

I grinned and thrusted my hands towards him. "Please, for universal sake, cut off these ropes."

With his eyes still wide and dazed, he nodded and easily tore through the rope. The rope was butter to the sharply filed knife. After sawing through it completely, the rope fell to the ground and off my hands. I felt a sigh of relief come from my lungs. The tight binding had left sore and uneven red marks along my wrists, but I didn't care about that.

I snatched the pocket knife from Jove-- to his surprise and confusion-- and lept back into the car. Grabbing onto Javi's left elbow, I forcefully pulled him out of the car and slammed the door shut behind us. Within seconds the car was speeding away from us.

"Um, Nova, who is that?" Jove's confused voice echoed in my head from behind me.

I heaved a low sigh. In quite honesty, I didn't and most likely wasn't going to tell Jove who I was. If I told him it would us, my reputation, my position. Nothing good could come from it. I shot Javi a glare saying, 'If you tell him, I will leave you right here, right now without any remorse'.

"A friend," I muttered while incising into my brother's restraints.

"Um," started Javi, "yeah. A friend." He was giving me a sharp glower, but I didn't regard it. The rope fell loose from his wrists. "Thanks," he murmered.

Teasing a grin, I said, "Don't mention it." I swiftly turned to a flummoxed Jove.

"Nova, Queen, I think we need to talk," said Jove, stilling eyeing Javi with distrust and confusion.

I gave him a light smack on his back and said, "Tomorrow, okay? Take the day off, Jove. See you tomorrow."

I grabbed Javi's arm and pulled him towards the Port enterence, leaving a disorientated and befuddled Jove behind.
