Sickness

Ed woke me up in the middle of the night.

"Love? Hey, wake up," he whispered as he shook me lightly.

"Hm?" I whined, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

"Are you okay? You wouldn't stop coughing in your sleep."

"I feel like shit, if I'm honest," I croaked, my throat sore from coughing so much. My head hurt like hell and so did the rest of my body. Ed gently pressed the back of his hand to my forehead.
"You have a fever, Love," he said worriedly. I groaned. I hated being sick.

"I'm going to get you some medicine, okay?" Ed got up from under the blankets and I watched the back of his messy head as he headed towards the bedroom door. Moments later he came back, not just with medicine but also with a glass of water. He sat down beside me and handed me some tablets together with my water. "Thank you." I smiled at him, before swalloing the pills. I placed the glass on the nightstand before falling back into the softness of my pillows.

Ed laid down beside me, pushing my sweaty hair out off my face, tracing his thumb over my blushed cheeks. I closed my eyes, but they snapped open again as I felt his soft lips against mine. "No." I placed my hands against his chest."What are you doing?"

"Uhm kissing you?" Ed furrowed his eyebrows.

"Teddy you're gonna get sick, too," I  told him.

"Don't care. I love you and I feel like kissing you right now," he said. Before I could stop him he connected our lips again. I sighed and felt my tense body start to relax a bit. Kissing Ed always felt like heaven.  As he pulled back he grinned at me. "How are you feeling now?"

I rolled my eyes at him. "Much better, Doc."

"I knew it would help!" Ed cheered, hugging me tightly. I laughed before starting to cough again.

"Shhh Darling," he hushed me." I think it'd be better to go back to sleep now. You need some rest." I nodded my head after calming down. He pulled my back to his chest, one hand holding mine. His thumb moved gently over my knuckels. "Goodnight, Teddy. I love you," I mumbled.

"Love you more."
