"We could go out for dinner."
"Nahh, too lazy to get dressed up."
"Well, then what about a Game of Thrones marathon?" I shook my head.
"A The Walking Dead marathon?" I thought about it for a moment before shaking my head again. Ed raised an eyebrow and placed the back of his hand against my forehead as if to check my temperature. "Hmm, you're definitely not sick. But why else would you not want to watch your two favourite TV shows?"
He made a serious face and pretended to try and come up with an answer. "Ahh, I got it! You must be out of your mind!" he announced and squeezed my cheek. Laughing I pushed his hand away and lifted my head from where it has been resting on his lap for the past hour. "I'm not crazy, I'm just not in the mood for it right now."
"Then what are you in the mood for?" he asked with a cheeky grin and leaned down to touch his lips to mine.
"No, Ed. I'm also not in the mood for that," I chuckled and put my arms around his neck, sitting up so that I was straddling him.
"Aww." A playful pout appeared on his lips. "Your loss, then."
I shook my head and put my hands on his chest. "Any other ideas?"
"Well." He let his hands wander down my sides and rested them on my hips. "What do you think about taking a walk? It would be fun," he suggested.
I glanced past him to look out of the window. The clouds that had been wispy and white this morning were now a lot darker. "Ed, I'm hundred percent sure that it will start raining within the next twenty minutes."
He shrugged his shoulders. "We're not made out of sugar, Darling." A smile strechted across my face. "Right, we're not."
"Why are we wasting time then?" he asked and gently moved me off his lap. We got up from the sofa and I followed him into the hallway.
"We're not going to change our clothes?" I asked while watching him tie his shoes. He looked up at me. "Weren't you the one who was too lazy to change?"
"Yeah, but," I looked down at myself and cringed. I was wearing sweatpants and a baggy, dark grey shirt. "I look a mess, tho."
He quickly finished tying his shoes and got up, putting his palm on my cheek. "Darling, you could be wearing a paper sack and you'd still look beautiful to me."
I felt my cheeks turn pink and turned my face to nuzzle his hand. "Thank you, Teddy."
"You're welcome, pretty girl," he said with a warm smile.
After slipping on my black boots and grabbing my sweater, Ed opened the door for me. He headed out after me and held out his hand for me. I laced our fingers and smiled at him. "Where do you want to go?" I asked while we walked down the road.
"Uhm, I don't know. Just around the neighborhood, I guess."
An idea popped into my head and I stopped, turning towards him. "We could go to the park! You know, the one with the big playground," I said excitedly.
"Lead the way then," Ed laughed and followed me as I tugged on his hand. After a while we reached the park and I squealed in excitement. I've always loved playgrounds when I was a little kid, and I've never stopped loving them.
"Hey, Alice, I bet I can swing higher than you," Ed said pointing at the swings.
"No way!" I let go of his hand and ran towards swings, Ed right behind me. He hopped onto the swing next to me and we started swinging. Laughing we swang higher and higher, but once I realised that Ed was about to win, I jumpef off my swing before it stopped. But, typical me, I ended up falling face forward on the soft grass instead of landing on my feet.
"Alice!" Ed shouted and slowed down his swing before jumping off and running towards where I was lying on the ground. "Is everything okay? You're not hurt, are you?" he asked carefully touching my shoulder.
I rolled over onto my back and pushed my long hair out of my face. "I'm perfectly fine, Ed," I laughed.
"Holy crap, why do you always have to scare me like that?" He held out a hand to help me up but instead, I pulled him down to me. "What are you doing?"
"The grass feels nice. I just wanted you to feel it, too." I put my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him closer. "And I wanted a kiss."
"You don't have to ask twice," he said grinning and tilted his head to capture my lips with his his own.
"I love you, Teddy," I breathed and let my forehead rest against his once we broke the kiss."I love you more, Honey," he smiled and brushed his thumb over my lip. We were just staring at each other with the biggest grins on both of our faces until a sudden crack of thunder interrupted us. Startled by the noise I looked up at the sky that had turned completely dark by now. "Uhh, that doesn't sound good," Ed mumbled and rolled off me. I quickly scrambled to my feet and wrapped my arms around myself. Thunder storm were one of my biggest fears. Ed put one hand on my shoulder and squeezed it in a comforting way. "It's okay, Alice. We'll make it home before it starts, don't worry," he told me gently and grabbed my hand.
I stayed close by his side as we hurried through the streets. "Ed, I'm scared," I panted as I felt a few thick raindrops hitting my head. Ed stopped and turned around. I gave a squeak of surprise when he swept off my feet and lifted me up into his arms. My arms went around his neck and I immediately felt a bit safer once I was surrounded by his familiar warmth.
Ed planted a soft kiss on my forehead before continuing to walk down the empty streets. "Don't worry, we're almost at home," he whispered as the rain came pouring down on us. "I've got you, Love"
