"Ugh, why are you so god damn perfect Arizona Robbins?" I moaned as I watched her get dressed in her favorite red dress, it hugged her body perfectly so that I could fall in love with every part of her over and over again.

6 months with this amazing woman and all I could think about was celebrating by ripping that red dress off her body. But of course I was on the night shift again!

"Are you sure you're ok with this?" Arizona persisted

"Arizona you haven't seen your daughter in over a year. I'm certainly not going to stop you just because Callie is going to be there" I smiled supportively as I wrapped my arms around her waist from behind and we both stood in front of the mirror

"Besides, you're my girlfriend, you're all mine. And I don't share" I gave her a cheeky wink in the mirror as she gave her most adorable giggle then swiftly turned around to face me with a shocked look on her face

"We're girlfriends?" she asked surprised

"Well we're not boyfriends, last time I checked anyway" I joked, wondering what was causing her to question what I had just said

"No, I know. But it's the first time you've ever called me your girlfriend" she blushed

"Arizona are you 12?" I laughed at her school girl blushing "We've been together 6 months. We live together. We make love to each other. Regularly." I laughed at the last part as I saw her cheeks spark a bright red as she looked at the ground and smiled. I placed my hand under her chin and tilted her head to look up at me

"You are my girlfriend" I whispered as I leaned in and gently kissed her lips "Now go show Sofia how amazing her momma is" I laughed as I brought her in for a hug

"I love you" she whispered into my shoulder

"I love you too" I replied before letting her go and watching her leave the room

"Hey DeLuca" I huffed as I flung myself against the nurses station dramatically

"Hey you. What's the dramatics for?" he laughed

"My girlfriend is having dinner with her ex-wife and I'm stuck here. Should I be raging jealous right now? Should I just storm into the restaurant and demand that Callie should not be there? But Arizona hasn't seen Sofia in a year." I began to argue with myself as Andrew stood there helplessly "save me Andrew" I begged dramatically

"Come on, I've got a surgery for you" he laughed

"You were created by the gods Andrew DeLuca" I said as I hugged him

"I know, I know" he chuckled

"This is James Patterson. He is a 20 year old male suffering from Atrial Septal Defect which has progressed to the 3rd type of ASD which is known as Sinus venosus. Tonight we have to close the atrial septum and return normal blood flow across the body and release the strain on Mr Patterson's heart." I presented to Andrew and 2 interns

"Alright Mr Patterson, Dr Quinn here is going to prep you for surgery and bring you up to the OR. Any questions just ask away and we'll answer them as best we can." DeLuca flashed his brilliant smile

"Thank you so much Doctors" James smiled gratefully

I soon had James prepped and ready for surgery. I made my way to the OR with him and scrubbed in.It was a long surgery and it was almost mid-night before we finished. After the successful surgery I decided to take a power nap in the on call room before checking Mr Patterson's post ops. On my way to the on call room I caught a glimpse of Meredith and Pierce sprinting down the hall. Thank god I wasn't on call for the pit tonight. That shit was exhausting. The on call room closest to me was full so I took an extended stroll down the hallway and into the elevator off the OR floor. I walked through a long narrow hallway when I heard an awful commotion coming from one of the patient's rooms. I began jogging down the hallway to check out the situation and the scene I was greeted with was worse than any night in the trauma ward.

I stood just outside the room as I watched my older brother heave a mouthful of blood up in a dish Meredith held under his chin. I stopped dead. I knew exactly what coughing up blood meant. That he was in serious trouble. But I couldn't move, I couldn't run to him. I just stood there. Frozen.

"I want Jamie. Get me Doctor Quinn now!" He screamed between heaves

Hearing him call my name forced me to burst through the door

"Blake! What the hell is going on here?" I roared
