"I think those meds are kicking in, don't you? How about we get some rest huh?" I said softly, completely avoiding her question
"Mhmm" she mumbled groggily as she lay her head against the pillow and shut her eyes
I removed myself from her grip, slowly and gently as I climbed off the bed. I decided not to respond to her marriage proposal seeing as she was pretty out of it with the medication. I couldn't help but wonder though. Was she serious? Did she truly want to marry me? I mean we've only been together a year and most of that year was filled with nothing but drama. We haven't even had time to fully love each other without having to support each other through some sort of crisis. But I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. The question is. Does she?

*1 Month Later *
"Jamie where are you taking me?" Arizona laughed as she asked for the hundredth time
"Arizona there's a reason you're blindfolded! It's called a surprise" I joked as I kept my eyes on the road
She remained quiet for the rest of the journey, knowing full well I wasn't about to give up the surprise. I pulled up in a multi-story car park and removed our bags from the trunk of the car.
"Can I take the blindfold off now?" Arizona asked
"Nope" I gave an amused laugh at her reaction
"Jamie I know we're parked somewhere, and people are going to see me! I look ridiculous!" she whined
"You look breathtaking, now stop complaining and come link arms with me. We're almost there." I smiled, even though she couldn't see the enjoyment I was getting from this
I grabbed our bags and led Arizona to the enormous building. I stopped as soon as we reached the front doors and placed our bags on the ground. I removed Arizona's arm from mine and walked around until I was directly behind her. I slowly removed her blindfold and she gasped with excitement.
"The airport? Where are we going? Are we going on vacation? But my patients, I have a surgery scheduled for tomorrow" She went from over excited to worried in under a second
I was still standing behind her so I wrapped my arms around her waist and placed my chin on her shoulder.
"I've cleared you're schedule for 10 days. No surgeries, no patients, nothing! I'm sure Karev can handle running the place for a little while. But right now we're getting on a plane and it's just you and me with no distractions or interruptions for 10 days straight" I whispered into her ear
I kissed her cheek and removed my arms from her waist so that I could stand beside her.
"Are you serious?" she beamed
"Does it look like I'm kidding? Now come on or we'll miss our flight" I smiled as I grabbed up our bags
We arrived at our gate and we soon boarded our flight to Bali. It was a 22 hour flight and it was the next day when we arrived. We took a cab to our cabin that sat near the ocean and all the best beaches. The view was breathtaking.
"Wow" Arizona breathed as she stood outside our bedroom doors that lead straight out onto the white sand
"You like it?" I smirked as I stood beside her
"Jamie it's beautiful!" She turned to look at me in awe
"You deserve a break, so I thought I'd go all out" I smiled at her lovingly
She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me in for a kiss.
"I love you" she whispered against my lips
"I love too" I said before kissing her again
It soon grew dark and Arizona and I headed to bed. The journey was exhausting and we just wanted to finally sleep in something that wasn't an airplane chair. I was already in bed reading when Arizona hopped in beside me.
"What's all this for?" Arizona asked skeptically
"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion
"This" she motioned around the room "The vacation, the beautiful location, all of it"
"Because they just cleared you for surgery and the minute they did you threw yourself back into work. I hardly get to see you! Not to mention Lauren's trial, it wasn't easy facing her again and I know last week was hard for you! But she was brought to justice and you don't have to ever worry about her again! I just thought a break away from everything would do you some good" I said honestly
She nodded contently and snuggled up to me. I placed my book on the bedside locker and wrapped my arms around her.
"You know you haven't answered my question yet" Arizona mumbled nonchalantly
"What question?" I asked looking down at her in confusion
"The question I asked you in the hospital" she said
I looked off into the distance, unsure of how to approach this situation.
"Look Arizona" I started before she cut me off
"Jamie I get it, you don't want commitment. Heck, I've put you through enough, I can see why.." she began but I cut in quickly
"No Arizona that's not it! If anything I've put you through hell and I don't deserve you! I want to marry you! You don't think if I could get up right now and find a minister and marry you in the morning, I would! Every part of me wants to spend the rest of my life with you but I just don't think we're ready yet" I explained
"Well if you want to marry me and I want to marry you, then what's stopping us?" she asked
"I think we just need time to love, Arizona. We've been together a year now and half of it has been filled with crisis and pain and our fair share of arguments. We've spent so long just trying to patch each other up that we've never had time to truly love each other" I reasoned
"You're right" she sighed as leaned away, clearly unhappy with my reasoning
"Hey, hey" I cooed as I pulled her closer, tilting her chin so that she was looking directly into my eyes "I'm not saying no. We're going to get married and we're going to go all out, but just not right now ok?" I smiled, lovingly
"Ok" she smiled back at me
"But you know what I do know right now?" I smirked
"What?" she giggled as she realized where this was heading
"Right now, I'm in bed with my insanely sexy girlfriend and we're going to drink a crazily over-priced bottle of champagne and then I'm going to make love to my beautiful girlfriend all night" I whispered seductively as I leaned in closer, placing a gentle, long-lasting kiss on her lips
