Evangeline P.O.V

"Damon Salvatore."

"What?" I stopped pacing and looked at Stefan's troubled face as he stares outside the Salvatore residence backyard. "Damon Salvatore." He clears his throat, looking at me. "So Salvatore, as in..."

"Brother," He interrupts a sense of both disgust and anger in his voice. "Brother? You didn't tell me you had a brother." I said, surprised. "Probably because I don't like to mention him." He quirks an eyebrow and mindlessly began playing with his day ring.

"Okay, you can't just suddenly start a conversation about something I never knew about you and drop it." I said, walking forward, hands folded as I glared at Stefan. He sits on the sofa, eyes watching the fire in the fireplace.

"Back in 1864, my brother and I, we fell in love with this girl... Katherine Pierce." He began. "So wait, you told me you loved this girl but you never mention anything about your brother!" I gasped outraged.

"It was complicated Evangeline. My brother and I had a rocky start after we turned. It was devastating when we tried to save Katherine and failed, resulting in us turning into Vampires." He reasons. I nodded, urging him to continue.

"We agreed to not turn. Just, let ourselves wither away. But I had to see my father again, He was the one that killed us. And when I met him, he tried to shove a stake in my heart... So, I pushed him, and then there was blood and the hunger..." He shook his head, clenching his fists tightly as he looked down.

I made a move to sit next to him, wrapping my hands in his. "I tempted Damon. And he took it. But after he left he promised me an eternity of misery." Stefan finished. I blinked hard at his words. That was a lot to take in. "But you can't be so sure its Damon that helped me." I argued with logic.

"I've known to meet Damon every couple of decades. And trust me when I say this. Every time he comes back, trouble starts to follow him. I had to get away from him. So each time I leave I make sure he's not following." Stefan brown eyes bore into mine.

"Then there's nothing you need to worry about. It was just another vampire who felt kind at the moment." I playfully hit him, smiling a little as his face lit up. "You're right. Because even if it was Damon he's one to make dramatic entrances." He smiles, pulling me close. I cuddled against him for a while, enjoying his warmth, his safety and love as I let it wrap around me.

"Did they say anything about the attack?" I mumbled after a few minutes. Stefan sighs, "Sheriff Forbes confirmed it was an animal attack. Elena supported the story of course partially because she was there but her memories were altered." He finally says.

"That's great, at least everything is at peace now..." I observed, hoping whatever I said was true. "We wish to hope. I'm still going to have to do a little digging around the area so I can figure out where the body went." Stefan explained, as I lay on his chest.

"You haven't told me how your brother actually looks like..." i frowned. "Well, when you see a guy with dark hair, pale blue eyes, a cocky look on his face, that's Damon." He nods at me.

"While we're talking about vampires, any other vampire friends I should worry about?" I teased, poking him. "Not a lot I'm afraid. I didn't make that much friends when my humanity switch was off." Stefan shook his head at the memory.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up," I apologized. "It's alright, Lexi helped me during that stage." He says. "Lexi?"

"Yeah, Alexi, my best friend. She helped me turn my humanity switch back on and has been there every time I needed her." Stefan confessed. "That's sweet," I smiled not bothered about Stefan's female friend.

"You think she might've been the one to healed me?" I bury deeper in Stefan's chest. "I hope so," Stefan kisses my forehead.
