Chapter 10: Worst Nightmare

Evangeline P.O.V

"No, No, No!" I yelled, hand on my mouth as I took the scene before me. Blood, bodies, ripped apart. "Oh, god... no..." I cried, falling to the ground on my knees as tears started streaming down my face. "Elena, Jeremy!" I crawled forward hugging their not moving bodies. Eyes stare upwards towards the ceiling. Glassy and wide.

"Elena, Jeremy... I'm so sorry... I never meant to hurt you..." I sobbed. "No..." I looked around. Bonnie, Caroline, Tyler, Matt, Jenna. Dead all dead. "Stefan!" I suddenly screamed as I saw his pale dead body pinned to the wall with a stake driven in his heart. "No! Not you too!" I stood up, and grasp his arm shaking him wildly. "Please..." I begged, cupping his cheek. His skin had turn grey and black veins were visible on his skin. 

"This is all my fault... Its my fault!" I yelled loudly, throwing over tables and chairs around me. "I'm so sorry..." I mumbled wiping away my tears. Why were they dead? What did I do? How did they die? I thought everything was perfect. Everything was fine. I was wrong. I was so wrong.

"Wake up... Wake up..." I whispered shaking back and forth hoping it was a dream. Hoping it was just a nightmare. 

"Eva,"

I look up abruptly, and screamed. They were all staring at me. Bloody, eyes glassy. "Stay away from me!" I yelled, backing away. "Eva," They said again. "You're not real! You're not real!"

"Eva!" They lunge forward as I screamed helplessly. I jolted awake, heart beating rapidly and my breath coming out in short pants. "Evangeline!" Elena, yelled from the other side of my locked door. I blinked numerous times before getting up and checking the time. 6.00 a.m.

"I'm up! I'm up!" I called out, shaking my head, "Come on, its late we were suppose to meet up with Stefan to train remember?!" She knocked on my door once more. "Okay, okay. Just... give me a sec." I said. Sounds of Elena footsteps could be heard as she left my door. 

I sat up, unable to stray away from my twisted dream. "What the hell was that?" I whispered to myself, checking my forehead. 

You're worse nightmare...

My subconscious said. I shook my head, trying hard to clear my memory. I stood up, and walked towards my mirror, rubbing my hair at the same time. I had eye bags under my eyes, and it was clear I was tired. What the hell was going on?

"Forget about it," I told myself, putting on gym clothes to get ready for training. "It was just a nightmare..." I calmed myself tying my hair into a pony tail and slipping on some sport shoes. "Yeah..." I looked at myself in the mirror once more, twisting and turning at my figure. 

"A nightmare..." I left the room, trudging downstairs quickly. My body felt like chalk as I moved and I groaned lightly whenever I took a step. Maybe I'm just not feeling too well. "Hey, you okay?" Jeremy, said as I walked towards the kitchen. He was downing down a bottle of water and Elena was drinking a juice box.

"I'm fine," I reassured him, opening the fridge to take a juice box. "You don't look too well." Elena observed. Her hair was down today and she was looking at me in concern. A cap was on her hair as she placed it to the side. "I'm just tired." I said, sitting down and rubbing my eyes. 

I drank the juice hoping a shot of sugar will help me have a little energy. It didn't do anything to help. "You sure, you're fine?" Jeremy's eyes follow me downwards as he sat opposite me. "Evangeline, if you're sick you know you can just stay back right?" Elena sat next to Jeremy as she said that.

"Guys," I smiled. "I'm fine," I shrugged standing up and walking towards the sink to wash my hands. "Eva, its been hectic lately. Why don't you stay at home, and rest, while me and Jeremy go out to train. We'll only take an hour." Elena suggested. "No, Elena. I'm coming with you," I stated, washing my face. The cool water splashed on my face, instantly making me fell cold.

"But, Ev-" I cut Jeremy off as I gave them both a firm glare. "No, Now lets go before Jenna realizes we're sneaking off again," I walked toward my bag and grabbed it, Elena and Jeremy followed from behind. As I reached the front door, a dizzy spell suddenly hit me, causing me to stop and grimace in pain.

"Evangeline, what's wrong?" Jeremy walks forward and grab a hold of my hands. "Jeez, you're cold. Why are you cold?" He says, worried as he brings his hand up my forehead. "Evangeline I think you're getting sick," Elena nods at me, grabbing my other hand. 

"No, let me-" I couldn't even finish my sentence as I grasp a hold on the counter near the door and tightly squeezed it. The room was spinning why was it spinning? "Eva, Hey, hey!" Jeremy firmly grabs a hold of my limp body. "What's wrong with her Elena?" Jeremy worriedly asked Elena.

"I don't know, Jer, maybe we should tell aunt Jenna." Elena suggested. "NO!" i stop them. "I'm fine!" I raised my voice standing but failing. "Eva, you are not well. Just quit being stubborn." Jeremy rolls his eyes.

It made me feel a little proud. That doesn't change the fact that I felt like I was going to, pass out. "Maybe we should just put her to rest. That should work," Jeremy nods to Elena. "Yeah! That's a great idea, we can- Eva, why the hell is your nose bleeding?!" Elena yells, grasping my chin.

I lift my fingers up to my nose, surprise to find blood coating my fingers. "Okay, this is not normal." Jeremy, leads me to a couch, setting me down on it with my head on his lap. But I couldn't even hear him anymore. It was all foggy.

"Eva, stay awake. Come on!" Jeremy shakes me. "Elena call an ambulance!" He gestures. Elena runs for the phone while Aunt Jenna came thundering down the steps. "What's going on?!" She demands, hair in a craze. "Its Eva! She's..."

I couldn't hear anything anymore. It was all dizzy. I was fearful of course. What was happening to me? I don't understand. I felt like falling. I was falling. Falling do far down in was impossible to stop. Darkness... everywhere... And then... nothing.
