It feels like a match of the game tennis,
Where my heart is in a constant threat of falling off from a trellis,
Unsure of which way it is going to go,
How it will all end no one can really know,
The love is unquestionable,
As is the fear, that is completely understandable,
But then a movie quote comes to mind as I try to recall the movie's name,
"Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game"
The man who said this was a wiser man than I,
One who believed in giving things an honest try,
Maybe it's my turn to let go of the fear,
And not lose one so terrible dear,
Due to some personal inhibitions and some horrific memories,
Time to write new happy stories,
I know not how this will all end,
All I know is that you are a dear friend,
For this reason alone I see the absurdity of it all,
Let me not lose you because I fear some future fall,
To trust or not to trust has always been a heart's dilemma, alas!
To be able to see truth and love amongst a world that is a farce,
Truth hurts but betrayal kills,
I am just sick of all the ill will,
Maybe you'll be different from the rest,
Perhaps you will pass times long enduring test.
