I see the day begin as a sea of lilac floods my sight,
Unbelievable as it may seem, I cant stop myself from admiring day's first light,
Kissed by this wasted blessing,
I bask in the welcomed stillness; so calming,
Glancing at the clock, I am reminded of the day before me,
My insides turn with that familiar fear and everything becomes hazy,
Some how I leave the safety of my home,
And wander along the school corridors on my own,
No I am surrounded by a sea of people and yet I feel so lost,
Unwanted I stick out like a sore thumb; left to rot,
Maybe I dont belong because I am different,
Or probably because my introversion in undeniably present,
My shy disposition is but a disadvantage,
Sadly it is by this only that people gauge,
I seem crazy, eccentric as a result of my actions,
But the problem lies in the mind with its many factions,
People's evaluations of me are damning; writing all over their faces,
Making me feel worse, so out of place,
The indiscreet suggestions that I do not belong, or even exist,
Is an unbearable twist,
Their polite endurance is visible, evident even more so,
Waiting eagerly for my time to go,
Well now I am gone, having reached the safety,
My day is almost over; oh the joys of liberty,
Reviewing the day in my feeble attempt to find any good occurrence,
My disappointment is as usual immense,
Cuddling a soft toy, I dive into the welcoming pool of self pity,
After some hours I emerge, feeling better about my classification as an oddity,
Closing my eyes I breathe deeply,
The fiery crimson fades to black; how timely,
I watch the sun embrace us with the last warmth for the day,
As the sun is engulfed by the dark mass, the twinkling stars come to play,
So the day is over, night has begun,
The battle for survival has been won.
