Each time we talk, with every word uttered,
The last word is usually yours and then our hearts shatter,
Sometimes we smile with happy memories,
Others we tear up almost instantly,
Like a candle in the wind, death overtook,
At that thought, all our tears are like an overflowing brook,
We cry in happiness and in sorrow,
Worrying about the happenings without you being there tomorrow,
Guiding us all in your own way,
Each one of us has so much to say,
About you and your actions; how sad it is the end,
We only have each other's shoulders to lend,
For with you gone, there is a gaping void that scares us all,
How much you fought to go, when death called,
That valiant stand will comfort us for years to come,
Inspirational you are, your will, be done,
Whatever you wanted for each one of us shall come true,
Your messages we wont ever lose,
I can't believe you are not here touching our lives anymore,
Your memory leaves our eyes red sore,
I can only hope that wherever you are, you are finally free,
Free from all the pain of your life, and on some new journey,
Destiny has funny paths for all of us, often making us cross each other,
But when we depart from this world, we leave each other forever,
How can our lives be so interconnected and yet so much our own?
Life continues to puzzle me at its many contradictions as I grow,
You were one of us and we were yours; that was our life,
How did it all go so awry?
With each passing day the loss seems to get worse for all,
Revealing some new dimension to it that we missed before leading to another fall,
It hurts so much to watch the people who loved you suffer,
They look lost, wondering what is left for life to offer,
In taking you away, life committed the biggest sin,
We have only your memory deep within,
You wont be forgotten, oh never!
We will still wonder with anger as to why you are gone forever,
I write for you, honouring your memory,
A sweet man with so much energy,
So much so that people could barely keep up with your liveliness,
Often not understanding your exuberance,
You were challenged in the worst possible way,
But you did not succumb is what we will all say,
You fought a rather one sided battle with so much aplomb,
And your courage is what will remind us to be strong,
However, life seems uncertain now with so many challenges and fears,
Each time your name is invoked, we break into fresh tears.
