A Fresh Start

I don't know about you, but I want a fresh start,

With someone or some people who love me with all their hearts,

You have time for yourself and your life,

It's always about you and your strife,

I am tired of being the third or even fourth wheel,

Its only about your issues that you act interested or speak with some zeal,

Some friend you are, some companion you were,

All my times with you are nothing but a blur,

Never can I recall a time where it was about me,

We always talked about your life with glee,

No encouragement or love, none at all,

You never bothered to pick me up after any fall,

I was always there to comfort you whenever anyone put you down,

Ever ready to erase your frowns,

But what of my insecurities? My doubts? My pain?

My words of them fell on a deaf ear, I spoke in vain,

You never gave me words of advice or comfort,

Heck even for special days you hardly took any effort,

You all seem to think money spent on gifts is what I need,

So wrong; your company and love is all I seek,

Material things is what you have given me,

Nothing intangible for my heart to see,

I want to let it all go, cause I am done being used,

To pick up whatever of my heart and ego is left, however bruised,

You go your way you with your nasty tongue, and I shall go mine,

I think this separation shall do me just fine,

How it will affect you I know not, I care even less,

Being away I know I shall be blessed,

So take yourself and let us part,

You have no friend here, because this friend wants a fresh start.
