"They always took Ophelia out of cryo before me. Every time I staggered over to that chair, I saw her huddled, shaking, recovering from what I was about to go through. There was always an emptiness in her eyes as she watched what they did to me, but there was something in there that made me think she wanted to know the answers. Why were they doing this to her? Why were they doing it to me? I know why they took her out first, because she was a danger to their plans, to their organization. Ophelia was the one thing that could topple over HYDRA's best weapon; me. So they had to pick her brain before they decided if it was safe to have her around me.
We didn't work together often; in fact, I was shipped around the world frequently to handle the dirty work. Ophelia never left Siberia until last year. I remember over the years I always had this nagging thought in the back of my head that made me want to look at her, as if we were school children who might cast glances at each other while the teacher had their back turned, and we'd both giggle about it like an inside joke. But that never happened; I always just wondered what she was, who she was. She was like a mythical creature, only showing up here and there. I remember, her longest stint outside of cryo was when the Death Squad was being put to the test. Her life was a lot better when she was under, at least there she didn't have to survive the pain, but I wonder, did she dream?
I don't recall dreaming in cryo, but her mind is so much different than mine. Did she dream that she was free? Not the way she dreams now, filled with nightmares and imagery she doesn't need to see. I hope she did, I hope that was a time of peace for her."
