"I can't believe you're making me do this." Jess rolled her eyes as she walked through Jay's front door.

"Hello to you too. I'm great thanks, how about you?" He mocked as she walked straight past him and into the living room.

Pausing in the doorway, Jess turned around to look at him with a smug expression over her face.

"I'm great thanks."

"Ha, always so funny!" Jay responded while following after her. "I'm not forcing you but we both know you'd do a better job than me alone."

Jay had asked Jess over to help do up the gang house. After a conversation with Steph a while back when she had been virtually pressuring him to stay in Brighton, he had begun to consider it. However, he knew if it was going to happen he would most definitely need to do up this house before he even made any definite decisions.

The house was virtually falling to pieces after the way it had been treated over the years and it was in definite need of a revamp. So, when Jay had made the decision to do it, he did not hesitate on getting in touch with Jess. She had a knack for this sort of thing; it seemed to come naturally. Her own home was absolutely beautiful due to her attention to small details and he knew her work on this wouldn't be any different.

"No you're right, I would."

"And you're secretly going to love it." Jay finished and knew the look he would get from Jess.

She loved interior design yet she always pushed it to the side for the sake of her kids. She had a huge family to look after and therefore, she didn't have time for anything but that.

"Maybe..." She trailed off as she scanned her eyes around the room, already letting her mind wander with ideas of how to make this place more liveable. "Do you want it completely changed up or to keep things pretty similar?"

"Pretty similar don't you think? It's still got to look like the place we grew up in."

Pausing, Jess was consumed with the thoughts of her childhood. Even though it had been tough and hadn't exactly been the average child's lifestyle, she had enjoyed it. The gang had been everything to her and she and Jay had been the ongoing support one another needed to get through those tougher days.

"Definitely. I'll keep the gang vibe but mute it a little." She chuckled. "Or maybe a lot for your new innocent girlfriend."

Jess' comment had Jay's head instantly turning to look at Jess in surprise. He didn't realise she knew, yet she was the one person he had been hoping to talk to about the whole thing.

"Steph told me." She laughed when she noticed Jay's obvious shock.

"Now I'm not surprised."

"I didn't believe her at first. Damn, Jay! Is it actually happening?" Jess teased, knowing it would drive him crazy. "Is that love I see in your face."

Reaching up to pinch his cheeks, Jay shrugged back yet unable to hold back his laughter. He understood the fuss; he was Jay Gibson, he didn't do this. Not only was it new for everyone around him, it was new for him too. Everyone has been so used to him just running about doing his own thing that seeing him take full interest in another girl that wasn't Jess or Steph was strange.

"It's a fucking mess already." He sighed, trying to avoid her gaze.

As much as Jess had been the one he wanted to talk to, he felt a little pressure now being face to face with her.

"How do you mean?"

"She keeps asking questions about my life and I keep shrugging them off. I can't have her knowing anything!"
