"Mummy, mummy, look!" The angelic voice of the petite blonde was heard echoing down the hallway.

Both Sophie and Jace looked up to see Amiya running into the kitchen with the biggest grin adorning her face. This little girl managed to light up a room the moment she stepped inside. With her pure innocence and constant excitement, she made all the minor difficulties in life completely vanish.

"Look! I'm a fairy princess!"

Placing her glass on wine down on the side, Sophie reached out just in time for her daughter to jump into her arms. Lifting her up, she then placed her onto the kitchen counter before examining her from head to toe.

Amiya had managed to get herself dressed in the gorgeous white as snow dress that Sophie had picked out from her own collection. Although she hadn't quite been successful in fastening it up, everything else was in tact and she looked utterly beautiful.

"Wow, baby. You are the most beautiful fairy princess I have ever seen." Sophie smiled down at her daughter with that pure and unconditional love that one could only ever feel for a child.

"Wait, I think you're missing something, Amiya." Jace spoke up in his thick New York accent and both Sophie and Amiya's attention shifted towards him.

Smiling back at them, Jace appreciated the two girls before him. Their resemblance was incredible. Every aspect of Amiya was just like Sophie. From the smile, to her mannerisms and even the way they would pinch the end of their nose when in an uncomfortable or unfamiliar situation.

The biggest difference between the two of them though, was the pure innocence that Amiya still held. That aspect of Sophie had been lost many years ago due to the scars life created on a person. However, they both hoped that this little girl could hold onto it for as long as possible.

"What Jace?" Amiya questioned when he hadn't made any effort to move or speak.

She and Sophie were both watching him with that mirroring curious look, causing Jace to finally turn on his heel and make his way over to a pile of toys on the floor. Pulling through them all, he finally found the flower crown he had been looking for.

"A princess needs her crown!" Jace effused as he placed it on top of Amiya's head and watched as she flashed him the cheesiest grin possible.

"That's better!" She beamed and kissed her hand before blowing it in the direction of Jace, who immediately caught it and sent one back.

Sophie watched her husband -of only a matter of months- in admiration for what she had been blessed with. She was still convinced she was trapped in some kind of dream and one of these days she would wake up back in Brighton, without the new life she had created for herself here.

Every day she would wake up, glimpse out of her window at the busy streets of New York city below and have to pinch herself. She had built her real life fairytale and it didn't seem possible that life could truly be that kind. Something had to go wrong.

"Down now." Amiya called out and Jace did just as she asked, lifting her down from the kitchen counter and back to her feet. "Hair time."

"Good plan." He nodded while before she ran off back down the hall, singing away to herself as she did so.

Sophie and Jace were not quite sure what creation she would return with but could honestly say they were looking forward to seeing it. This little girl was the most determined 4 year old ever and wouldn't hold back from making it her best efforts.

"I think she's going to need your help." Jace laughed as he turned back to Sophie.

"Mm, I think so too." She breathed before reaching out for the edges of his suit jacket and urging him towards her. "I want to see what she comes up with first though."
