Juliet:
"Is that it then? Are they finally gone?" Dylan asked as he stood in the kitchen opposite Juliet.
Things between the pair of them had been extremely tense due to the previous living circumstances. The moment Dylan found out Juliet had agreed to them staying, he had completely lost it. He felt rightly uncomfortable with them being around, let alone living there with them and it all just seemed so messed up.
Juliet had been feeling just as uneasy with the situation as Dylan had but due to what Matt had said to her regarding his brother, she felt a little guilty just kicking them out. Therefore, when they out rightly offered to leave, she didn't hold back from supporting the decision.
She didn't know if Matt had made up with Jay and was going back to Vegas or if they had found somewhere else to stay but her main relief was that they were out of the apartment. A couple of days had turned into weeks and with her only one month away from the expected birth of her baby, that stress was the last thing she needed.
"Yeah... they left this morning." She responded.
Dylan had been at work all day and had spent most of his time there since Matt and Abbie had been staying. He constantly found an excuse to leave at a stupid time of the morning and not arrive back until late at night. He was avoiding them, that was obvious, but it hadn't been making things easy for Juliet.
Therefore, the tension between the two of them was unmissable. Every conversation they had experienced had been brief and blunt, as if they were two strangers passing on the street. This was the last thing either of them needed with their baby on the way so it was causing even more strain on the relationship.
"It's about time, too."
"So does that mean you are actually going to show your face around here more now?" Juliet bit the moment Dylan turned his back ready to walk out the kitchen.
She couldn't believe that even now they were gone he was still prepared to act cold with her. Instead of remaining in the kitchen to have a mature conversation like adults, he had begun to walk out without even putting in any effort to try.
"I don't know what you mean by that?" He asked, shrugging his shoulders.
He was acting innocent yet Juliet knew full well he was aware what she was talking about.
"As in, are you going to stop purposely spending your days away from here just so you could avoid the awkwardness?" Juliet rephrased the question just for emphasis.
"Yeah I'll be home earlier now. I just couldn't hang around here before, it was messed up."
As much as Dylan was still riding with the whole 'cool and calm' vibe, Juliet was feeling anything but. She didn't understand how he didn't see how bad it made her feel throughout the whole situation with him not being here.
While she had been stuck trying to make awkward conversation with her ex and his girlfriend, Dylan had been out working and with his friends, doing anything to avoid it.
"Do you not see how unfair that was, Dylan?" She raised her voice that tiniest amount to make a point.
Dylan struggled to pick up on the exchange between casual conversation and when she was mad so sometimes she had to make it that little bit extra obvious for him.
"How was it unfair?" He questioned, playing innocent yet again.
Juliet couldn't quite work out if he truly didn't see the issue or if he was purposely trying to annoy her but either way it was working.
