Sophie and Aaron
"Um, what is going on?" Sophie laughed as she walked into her parent's living room to see her mum and Aaron's mum lying on the sofas.
Sophie, Aaron and the kids had come over to pay them a visit but this had not been a scene they were expecting.
"Don't ask, they had a rough night." Sophie's brother Cameron walked in followed by her dad.
"A rough night?" Aaron chuckled looking between them and realising what this was about and Cameron nodded his head with an embarrassed expression on his face.
"What time did you get in mum... at like 4am was it?"
Estee sat up on the sofa to envelope Phoebe in a hug who practically charged at her before grinning at Richelle.
"We had a night out... it was a lot of fun!"
"Oh my God." Sophie covered her face as she leaned into Aaron. "You're kidding right?"
Estee and Richelle had found themselves in a very unique friendship. Even though both women were so very different, they still seemed to click and in turn Aaron's mum had been spending a lot more time in Brighton. It benefited herself as she seemed to be having a lot of fun here but it also meant she got to see Aaron a lot more.
"We're trying to find Richelle a wonderful man to give her more reason to move to Brighton."
"Right, I don't even want to know." Aaron held his hands up as he expressed a disgusted look at talking about this.
"I haven't met anyone yet so don't worry." Richelle teased causing Sophie to laugh at how uncomfortable Aaron felt.
Running her arms around his chest, she hugged him from the side causing him to roll his eyes at how amusing she was finding it.
"We actually came to talk to you all about something." Aaron began, trying to move the conversation along. He took a seat on the sofa and pulled Sophie down to sit on his lap.
The pair had just spent two weeks away on their honeymoon and they were still in that bliss period after their marriage where everything felt like a fairytale. These two would usually bicker over the most ridiculous things but their arguing had been mute since the wedding day and instead they had been inseparable.
There was a look nervousness over all the three parents' faces as they weren't exactly sure what was going to be said. Whenever Sophie and Aaron needed to talk to them, it was usually about something pretty serious. It tended to be related to Sophie's job most of the time and the pair could tell that they were always secretly praying it wouldn't be related to them moving to London.
Luckily for them, this time it was not that.
"Is everything okay?" Richelle asked with slight caution to her voice.
Running his hands around Sophie's waist, Aaron pressed his lips to her back as he tried to mask his smile. They were both completely buzzing over the news yet were trying not to give too much away.
"Yeah." Sophie grinned, not having as much power to hide her excitement as Aaron did. Looking back at him, she waited for his approval so she could just get this out and she got just that.
"We're going to be adopting again!"
The huge smiles on both of their faces were instantly mirrored on their family members. No amount of words could describe the emotions currently being experienced by them all. Arlo especially looked over the moon as Sophie had mentioned before, adoption was always something he had felt passionate about so the fact that Sophie was involved in it made him so proud.
"Really?" They beamed as the whole mood in the room had transformed from hungover to happiness.
"We weren't planning on doing it this soon what with Kaden and everything but we got a call and it all just felt right."
"You've always got to follow the signs and your heart with this stuff." Richelle urged as she watched the love from her son and daughter-in-law.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Estee went onto ask. "And how old?"
It was clear everyone was buzzing with questions and Sophie and Aaron were happy to answer them. When they had got a call from the adoption agency, they had been a little worried at first. What with their busy lives already, bringing another child into them seemed a little crazy however, after a long talk, they decided it felt right.
These calls didn't come too often as they were closely picked and matched to parents so therefore, when they did receive one, it always felt right to go with it. They had experienced trouble in the past with adoption so they didn't want to turn down children who needed homes when they were given the chance to provide one.
"It's a boy." Aaron cheekily grinned. "And he's two."
"I am having another brother!" Phoebe grasped Arlo's attention as she sat on his lap.
"That's amazing V! Do you know what his name is?"
Phoebe nodded enthusiastically while lifting her hands in a claw position before making a 'roar' sound. Both Aaron and Sophie couldn't help but laugh because this had been the initial reaction she had given when they asked her if she wanted to name her new brother.
"His name is Tiger, dad." Sophie clarified when she noticed Arlo looking a little confused.
When Sophie and Aaron found out they were being given the option to choose a name for their new son, they had immediately agreed to give the choice to Phoebe. She had been the first child and also adopted, so they knew that she would be on the same wavelength as this little boy. He had been disowned at the orphanage a few years ago and when his parents had finally been tracked down, they had claimed they wanted nothing to do with him. It was a similar situation to what Phoebe had been through.
Therefore, when given the choice Phoebe had carried out the same action she just did when announcing it to Arlo and then insisted she wanted him to be called 'Tiger'. At first, Sophie and Aaron hadn't been too sure as the name wasn't one you came across too often yet they knew it existed with many different spellings being used for it.
However, it was when they truly started to think about it that they realised why Phoebe had chosen 'Tiger' and why that particular spelling was extremely important.
When Sophie and Aaron had been planning to adopt the newborn before Kaden came along, Phoebe had chosen a particular book for the new baby in a shop. It had been a story all about a Tiger and it had stood out to her immediately. It could have been a coincidence that she chose this name but they didn't think it was. Phoebe had made the connections and it was for that reason that they had to go with it.
"We're bringing him home in about a week." Aaron continued and the love in his eyes as he looked between his family and Sophie was beautiful. It was crazy how two people previously so against children were now welcoming ones that needed a home into their lives. "He's the coolest little guy ever."
When they had first met him, he had most definitely given off a huge impression. He was such a character with a cheeky personality and had made Sophie and Aaron laugh immediately.
They instantly knew that he would fit into their family perfectly as not only would Phoebe enjoy having a brother to make her laugh, Kaden would grow up appreciating the bond of brotherhood.
"We're so happy for you both." Arlo spoke for the three of them, who were looking at their children with such love in their eyes.
"You're going to give another vulnerable child a happy home." Richelle added and that was the simple truth of the matter.
While Sophie had always been so focused on her job and looking at it as the most important thing, going out and cars had been the focus for Aaron. However, now they had learned to open up their hearts to more than just that and this world of adoption was something they both felt extremely passionate about.
